A friend of mine has pregnancy "scares" every other month even though they use bcp and condoms because apparently her mom conceived her that way. I say her mom's just trying to scare her. (She's 24 but she's the baby of the family and has heard this story since high school).
I know it's rare but possible, but I just feel like I hear this WAY too much for it to be true for everyone who says it happened to them.
So I guess I'm looking for some stories from you girls. Were any of you honestly using BC or condoms or whatever and got pregnant?
Re: Were any of you trying to prevent?
Yes, I was on bc pills when I conceived. However, I went back home, where the time difference is 5 hours from where I live, and was taking the pills at different times of the day for a kind of extended period.
Even so, I read that the pill should still be about 95% effective when not taken at a consistent time period. I guess I'm part of that 5%.
I've been on BCP since last December after I had my DD in October. I wasn't taking BC when we conceived DD, we were TTC. Before we conceived DD my cycles were regular to the day (most months) but this year since i've had my daughter my cycles have been so irregular, coming a week early or a week late or not at all, i'm not really surprised that we are pregnant with #2 even with taking BCP. So yes it is possible, but mine's probably not the "ideal" situation with my irregular cycles. My mother says that I was conceived while she was on BCP, but that was 27 yrs ago! lol
I was off birth control but we were using condoms! We were trying early in the year but put it on hold because of new jobs!
Wow--wasn't expecting such a great response! Looks like I'll back off my friend a bit haha, especially cause SO and I only use condoms!
H&H 9 months to all of you with your exciting little surprise babies!
