Two Under 2

2u2 with 2 older kids-a car question

We will have 2u2 around June 1st.  We also have a 9 and 16 yo.  We have a chrysler pacifica (2nd row-2 captains chairs and a 3rd row) so my question is this:

on the few occasions that all of us are going somewhere...can we do the convertible seat in 3rd row and the infant seat in the 2nd row?

Re: 2u2 with 2 older kids-a car question

  • I'd suggest reading your owner's manual. I know some specify not to use carseats in the third row. I don't know anything about the Pacifica specifically so I can't comment on the third row, but the manual is a good place to start.

  • also who is a great resource if you have a local car seat inspection by your town or county; they might be able to look and make some great suggestions.
  • I'd definitely look at the owners manual but I have a friend with an acadia with captain chairs as the 2nd row and then a 3rd row. She has 3 kids - her oldest is 4 and is in the 3rd row in a convertible seat, her middle is 3 and is in a convertibles seat in one of the captain chairs, and the infant seat is in the other captain chair. She also splits the 3rd row so her city mini fits back there.

  • We've done that a few times in our Tahoe...so my guess would be that's fine. But I agree to check the owner's manual :)
