We are spoiling our DD this year since we are moving this spring and probably won't be able to get her much next year. So far we have gotten her the LP Zoo Talkers also, 3 bags of megablocks, and a Tag Jr. reader.
We are also going to get her some more books to go along with the Tag, the megablocks wagon, a new pair of sneakers, and art supplies. I'm also making her a chalkboard which is really cheap.
We got DD Little People Noah's Ark with two of the animal sets (love them), a twin set of Xmas PJ's and we will probably get her some bath toys and something else. We have so many books and enough cloths for now so I don't see us buying any of that stuff.
We're giving her an alphabet puzzle, a tea set, a Mr. Potato head, and a pair of pj's. Her birthday is a couple weeks after Christmas and we have big families so she'll likely be getting plenty more from everyone.

Last year we hardly spent anything, but this year they are getting 2 big presents to both of them (train table and play kitchen) and a bunch of little stuff. They are actually INTO stuff this year so I got a little carried away.
I swore I was not going to go crazy because he already has so many toys as it is and I know he will be spoiled by my parents, sister and in laws. HOWEVER the kick ass cyber monday sale on Learning Resources altered my plan.
Initial plan:
Cars toddler bed with bedding set
A few stocking stuffers & a Tag Jr.
Altered course of action:
12 toys from LR
Tag Jr
Car bed
Step2 chefs kitchen
New plan: Save some for his 2nd birthday in February

We didn't finish shopping yet, but he'll likely get three presents and a stocking. We want to get him wooden train tracks and a train, so that will be his "fun" gift. Then there are a couple of things he needs.
2. A Tag Junior with some books and a storage case
3. Peg puzzles
4. Animal magnets
5. FP Noah's Ark
6. FP A to Z Zoo

ETA: We're getting a chalk board, chalk, play tent, baby doll, stroller, new baby book, farmer see n say & maybe a few other small items.
But I am currently working on a wish list for his Grandma at her request. I put little people farm, basketball hoop, small toy grill, M&D wood toy truck, some books, monster bowling, ball drop, wagon, table set, "green" bath tug boat, "green" fire truck. I put quite a few things so she had choices and maybe someone else will want to see it.

Note: Grandparents on both sides live out of the country and have low income and DS won't get gifts from them - but plenty of love via Skype and cards in the mail

Both of my kid's are getting quite a bit more than usual this year. I did a big clean out of all our old/broken/no-longer-developmentally-challenging toys and that left them with pretty much nothing to play with that is age and gender appropriate.
DD's big gifts are:
-Go Go Cookie Pup
- A new baby doll with a baby blanket and feeding set
- a bassinet for her dolls
- a plush rocking horse for her to ride on
- a new toybox with built in bookshelf (this is for both of them)
- a new table and chairs set (for both of them)
- a dollhouse (this is going to be from my mom)
We also got her a lot of books and wood puzzles, We had a ton of American Express points to use, so we got the books and puzzles for FREE!!
We're not counting. And, seeing as it took us until this past weekend to breakout her birthday present (a kitchen)...I don't think she really cares too much.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Some of you must live in mansions.
Between what my parents and IL's are getting him, the size of our house, his disinterest in ANYTHING that is labeled as a kid toy, and the mound of crap he already has, he might get a couple small presents from us and stocking stuffers.
I am enjoying the fact that he is too young to know the difference at this age. There will come a time when I get a list of what HE wants. I'll save my money until then.

her bday is 4 days after so this is tough but for Xmas she'll unwrap a jack in the box, a spinning top, a kaleidescope, a couple books & puzzles and there will be shopping cart from Santa. for her bday she'll get a couple more books & puzzles and a Kitchen set.
We went a little crazy this year, so did my parents and In-laws! DH and I got him a Step 2 Tool bench, extra tools, Lets Rock Elmo and the Guitar, Tag Jr. and 4 books, a bunch of clothes, Christmas PJ's and a Fisher Price bowling set. And he's got some dvd's and other little toys in his stocking. My in-laws have a $400 budget on all the grandkids and that was ALL spent on toys they didnt get him any clothes this year! Plus our gift as a family from them is an IPad so he will get to use that too. My parents got him the Kinect for Xbox and the Elmo game for that, clothes, a sled, snow boots and snow pants, John Deere tractors and some other toys. Carter might have a sibling on the way this time next year so we will all have to learn to control our selves and not buy SO much stuff.
IL's got her Jingle the Husky with book, Disney Sleeping Beauty toddler doll, 120 Piece play food set, Cars 2, a chefs outfit, a fairy wand, and a play tent.
So far we have gotten her a play kitchen, tea set, a dress up out fit. Still have more to get I want to get her more dress up cloths she loves them, but DH thinks she is to young.
my mom hasn't told me a thing yet other then cloths and a baby doll with and outfit
We're getting DD a nice table & chair set, a baby doll and bottles to feed her, a sled, bath crayons, some clothes, plus a bunch of stuff from the dollar bins at Target for her stocking. Both sets of grandparents will spoil her, so I dont feel like she needs too much from us.

Glad you posted this! Since DS will be 22 months xmas day, i figured whats the point on going nuts buying lots of gifts, we'll save that money for when he actually understands. But i wasn't sure if my decision was dumb or not, so seeing other replies to this post has helped me feel a lot more comfortable w/my decision.
He'll be getting clothes, a football, swim goggles and whatever else we may need for our FL trip in late Jan., potty training stuff like a book or something (already have a potty and a seat), and then some stocking stuffers like stickers, little flashlight, ornament, animal crackers, toothbrush and paste, etc. I would like to get him 1 more gift (non-stocking stuffer), but at the moment i'm not sure yet.
