Stay at Home Moms

homespun christmas..

So I think we are doing a partly homespun christmas this year. I was thinking of making those skittle vodkas for my BFF. And my FI is weridly obsessed with body scrub,, like really really good exfoliaent (spelled wrong i know.) I once gave him this bar of soap that had pieces of sea shells in it and he LOVED it. Someone had giving it to me when they came back from FL.

So anyway.. does anyone know how to make some really good body scrub? Anyone else doing homespun?? What are you making?

Re: homespun christmas..

  • I do not have a body scrub recipe, but we do a lot of homespun gifts. I canned a lot of stuff earleir in the season. I made a lot of chocolate strawberry sauce that has got a lot of rave reviews from people. I am currently sewing DD clothes for her Barbies. The Barbies were mine as a kid so there are no clothes that are still sold commercially that fit the Barbie. I am also making play dough for the stockings. My mom is getting a recipe box with a lot of my recipes that she constantly asks for. Some people are getting homemade chocolates.

  • We are doing a homemade Christmas this year too. I am making vanilla extract from this tutorial - https://bethanyactually.com/make-your-own-vanilla-extract/

My family like consumables, we are huge declutter-ers!

  • All you really need for body scrub is oil (olive or grapeseed oil works well), salt (kosher is good) or I prefer sugar and some essential oil.
