Wow, pregnancy hormone alert!
I haven't watched this season of Sister Wives because DH and I nixed the cable, but I do love the show and I knew Robin was expecting.
My mom came with us to our OB appointment today and she was telling me about the season finale and that Robin offered to surrogate for Meri.
OMG. I immediately started crying when she told me that!! I was just so overcome and touched that Robin made such a beautiful gesture. Man, these hormones have me all whacked out, and I can't believe I got THAT emotional.
I never liked her before, but I guess now I'm a Robin fan.

I haven't seen the episode, so I don't know, but do you think she came up with it at the spur of the moment, or did it come off as something she had put thought into?
Awww! I didn't watch yet either! Did Merry say ok lets do it?
She said that she'd prayed about it since she'd met Meri, but it seemed like that moment she was finally compelled to ask. Who knows if it was the emotions or the producers that got her to choose that moment, but it was still really sweet!
I really hope that they do it and it works out for them.
When I was struggling with IF I had a dear friend offer to surrogate my child if DH and I were unable to conceive. I think that's why it touched me so deeply. There are few gifts you can give a person that are more wonderful than that!
I can't wait until it's on Netflix! They need to hurry it up!!
Love netflix! I hate it when I watch a whole season and then have to wait...

From what I remember during the first season Meri's IF was unexplained. Kody broached IVF and she wasn't interested. I guess I'm not sure what makes them think surrogacy is the answer. Where did that come from?
I feel for Meri. She's watched her husband have all these kids with other women when she's made it clear she would have liked more of her own. I think she has deep self esteem issues and feels the need to punish herself by living this lifestyle.
I like the show, but I am conflicted. I don't approve of what they're doing, how it affects their kids, but then again I don't approve the ways a lot of people raise their kids. I never really thought of polygamy as a civil rights issue, and I'm still not sure I do, but it's caused me to consider it. The again, as someone who has dealt with IF, it bothers me that this guy, who let's face it, is a total douche, has all these kids.

I haven't been a religious watcher, but how does this family afford all of those beautiful homes? TLC? What does "big Poppa" do?
