FFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yup, just got put on bedrest for contractions. I now get the pleasure of getting weekly progesterone shots and taking procardia as well. Needless to say, I'm pretty upset
(
But, the good news is that LO passed her biophysical profile with flying colors today!! I hadn't been feeling any movement either at all today or last night, so that's VERY exciting! There's just one little possible hitch: she freaking turned and is now breech! She had her feet up by her head, and it looked hilarious. Geez....what a day! So, looks like I'll be a lot more active on here from now on ![]()
Re: On Bedrest :(
I'm sorry you got put on bed rest I know its hard but keep at it. Its the best thing you can do for you and your little one!
Also WTH to those of you wishing to be put on bed rest!???!!!
I have been on bedrest for 7 weeks at home and now a week of hospital and will be here till I deliver.
I guess I just dont understand why on earth anyone would wish for complications that endanger their pregnancy that would cause bed rest. It is serious, they dont put you on bed rest because you are too tired! Its because your little one is at serious risk.
Know your limits be honest about them, if you are tired- sleep, if you are hungry- eat! Its that simple for most pregnancies, some of us are not that lucky. Feel blessed you can prepare for your little ones and enjoy it. Not everyone gets to!
Okay vent over
I had BH with DS and they never ever hurt. It was just a tightening. maybe uncomfortable but not painful. I had 3 contractions last night, and it took me a second to realize what it was, but it HURT. not labor-type hurt, but it was painful.
Even with BH, my OB said to call if I had more than 6 an hour (so every 10 minutes).
Those of you wishing for bedrest are CRAZY. I was on it for 6 days and was going nuts. I'm sorry to those of you on it, I hope time passes quickly but that your LO's stay put for the long haul!
@LeahandJack - My cervix has shortened from a 5 down to a 3.2, but that's still in the "OK" range. I go back on Thursday to get it rechecked.
I have a secure, full-time job and a boss who thankfully loves me.So, while I'm afraid of going out of the FMLA safety zone, I don't feel like my job is in jeopardy (at this point). I hope my bed rest will ease up and I can at least work part-time soon. I'm on bedrest until furthur notice. Most likely, it will be until I have the baby. Eeek!
I got put on bedrest last time at 31 weeks and lasted until 36. So, I've got some experience with it. LOL, that might be a disadvantage, though, because I know how boring it is. There's only so much daytime TV, computer games and books I can read. I do plan on being a pro at photoshop though, by the end of this!
@Salt - that's so sweet of you!!! I've been busy at work trying to get a lot of our end of the year stuff done (almost got it finished!). So, my bump time got severely downsized!
@FIRST - Looks like we can start a bedrest club now! Sorry to hear you've been on it for 7 weeks already! That's awful that you got it so early! Sending T&P's your way
@emilyann - I've been having BH contractions since 13 weeks. There are days when I have them a few minutes apart, and there are days when they are an hour or so apart. But, they always felt the same. My OB told me to just ignore them until they changed. A couple of days ago, I started getting painful menstrual type cramps. I was curious, but not too worried. Then, this morning, I woke up with even more painful menstural cramps. Then, my usual contractions were A LOT more intense and 1-2 min apart. Not only that, but I was also having back pain with them. So, I decided to call and they had me come in.
Same here and the last 2 days have actually been painful for me. I have my beginning of 3rd tri appointment next week so I've been trying to hold out til then, but today I had some seriously sharp throbbing pains that had me wondering!
