rec your toddler camera

Over Thanksgiving, DD got really into taking pictures - she kept grabbing anything that resembled a camera/iPhone and kept holding it up going, "smile!  take your picture!"  Adorbs.

I'm thinking about getting her a toddler camera for Christmas - anyone have one for their kiddo that they love?

Re: rec your toddler camera

  • Everything that I researched last year said that the image quality On toddler cameras was so bad that you couldn't even print a small image with decent quality. Maybe it's my love for photography but I wanted to be able to print an album or something with their images in it so I opted To get them cheap versions of a regular point and shoot. I can't remember which one I got but it was whatever was on sale at amazon at the time. They love them and they have held up to being dropped and carried everywhere. My 2.5 year old can take pictures with it without any problem, sometimes her fingers get in the way but I imagine that would happen with a toddler camera too. They love going back through their camera and seeing what images they took!

  • Ditto ec3under4 - I've played with the vtech toddler cam and it's not that awesome. I'd recommend just getting a cheap/used point and shoot and let her use that. DD played with one of our old p+s cameras this weekend and thought it was the coolest thing ever... I can't wait till she actually knows what to do with it :)
