Just when I thought I had heard it all....

So today I took DS to the post office in the baby bjorn.  I haven't really gotten much  - "who's the REAL mom?" crap yet.  Then today...anyone else hear this one yet....

There is an elderly woman behind me who starts cooing at him.  Then she says.."do you look like your daddy? You look so much like your daddy!"  And there's, well...me holding him.  Don't get me wrong, I get mistaken for a guy frequently. I had even talked to the woman in this case so the whole voice thing did not even work. I let it go, but BOY was there a lot to unravel if I had decided to correct her!  For folks who do not know, my dear wife carried and we used anonymous donor sperm.

    Well, aside from the woman thinking that you were a guy, people always comment about how L and the boys look so much alike. Strangers say, "You look just like your mom" all of the time (and like you there is no biological connection there.) I can't think of a time when some said they looked like me. But I think it is sweet that people think they look like L (and it thrills her to no end!)

    I have to admit the looking like me part was sweet and the other part did not really bother me.....just funny.

    had this happen too ... I was annoyed but then i realized it was AWESOME ... He is your son- and you picked out a great donor that people cant tell...  now when i get that it I just say THANK YOU !!!!!

    Every once in a while K will get a "sir" comment - usually before the person sees her from the front.  I would die of laughter if I ever witnessed that between her and a stranger.
