I had my first appointment today and everything looked good except my fundal height. The doctor said that my uterus shouldn't be above my pubic bone at this point and that I am measuring around 12-14 weeks, not 8.
I know that my dates aren't that off. My LMP was around 9/29 and I got a BFN at 9 DPO and a BFP at 11 DPO, so I am pretty sure that my due date is close.
The doctor has ordered an ultrasound to rule out :::gulp::: multiples.
Could it just be because this is the 2nd time around?  I knew that I would probably measure a little ahead due to this being my 2nd pregnancy, but 4-6 weeks??

Re: 2nd timers (or 3rd & 4th...)
I measured six weeks ahead with my second one the entire time. The dr was sure my baby would be close to 9-10 lbs once he determined there was only one. She was 5 lbs 15 oz and my uterus is just a big ol' stretched out bag
DD3 measured a few weeks ahead, but never as much as DD2. My first DDs had the same due date a year apart so not too much time for things to get back to normal .
I have had no experience measuring ahead! My younges was 7lbs7oz and 1w3d late. I have a titled uterus which may be lead to be a little bit of a pain but he said nothing else out of the ordinary.. I'm sure I dont know what I am asking for, but I think it might be cool to have multiples! How long do you have to wait for your U/S?
I'm 9 weeks and at my appointment last week, my uterus was slightly above my pubic bone. My doctor didn't comment on it at all. I can feel that it's moved up a little higher since. *shrug*
Mommy to DD1 (June 2007), DS (January 2010), DD2 (July 2012), and The Next One (EDD 3/31/2015)
My ute is right on schedule measuring 8 weeks, and the gummi bear only measured 3 days ahead on the U/S. So, I'm not experiencing that at all.
Yikes @ the possibility of multiples! LO was by NO means an easy baby so I am not as excited about the idea of twins as I was the first time around! Better to measure ahead than behind though IMHO.
