Are there are any formula fed babies who are still getting up for a bottle in the middle of the night? Or are they getting all their calories during the day?
It seems like this is easier to "control" with formula because you can make the bottles bigger, whereas with BF-ing, you're more at the mercy of your supply. Plus, BM digests faster.
So just curious.
Re: STTN and FF-ing
I was sad when we had to switch to formula, but in the back of my mind I was a bit excited becuase I thought he'd sleep better. Nope! My almost 8mo old still gets up twice to eat! I can't get him to eat more than 5-6 oz in a bottle no matter what I do, so it's not as easy to control as you may think.
Same with solids. I heard from a lot of people that once he was eating cereal/purees, he'd be fuller and sleep longer. A big NO there too. He's been on solids for 4 mos.
DH thinks we can "fix" this problem by weaning and giving her more formula during the day. So I was curious to hear from FF-ers.
Everything she said lol.
I had to switch to formula too and thought the exact same thing, "ohh now my kid will start sttn!!!" No dice. She still gets up 3ish times, then once at 6am for a quick feed, then wakes up around 7:15 for the day.
She probably eats about 12oz through the night. I am starting to feel like she is never going to sttn
