First mental breakdown...

So, my house is getting re-sided right now.. Which I am REALLY excited about... However, next to my house are these two GORGEOUS butterfly bushes, one is purple and the other is fuschia... they are eight feet tall and in the summer butterflies are all over it... I walked out of my house this morning and they were CHOPPED. TO. THE. GROUND. I got in my car and burst into tears. Then called my husband... Yeah, I think my mood is a bit unstable, to say the least. Anyone else have a freak out like this yet, or am I the only crazy one in the bunch?

Re: First mental breakdown...

  • Sorry to hear about the bushes!

I picked up a pretty nice china cabinet at an antique store for $170. I was super excited to get it home and put our new china in there. Although, when I couldn't figure out how to decorate it, I broke down and started crying.

Definitely unlike me to get upset over something so minor.

Ooh it sounds pretty tho! I had lunch with a friend yesterday who has  4MO, and she told me that at the end of her pregnancy she would stand in front of her fridge with the door open and cry cause she couldnt decide what to eat! Hahaha. I guess it wont be so funny when thats me!

  • So far the closest thing to any emotional outburst from me was feeling like I was going to cry while my BIL was yell at my ILs at the grandparents house about how he using the money they give him to buy lottery tickets and some stuff about how they keep making him feel like he is a D-bag who doesn't take care of his kid (he doesn't, they basically raise the boy and the other kid my BIL's wife had from before). I am not an emotional person, but seeing my MIL burst into tears after my BIL left was incredibly hard for me. A perfect end to out trip out for Thanksgiving *rolls eyes*.

  • I probably would have cried about beautiful plants being chopped down even if I wasn't pregnant.  But I remember fully being completely crazy with my 1st pregnancy.  We're talking hormonal over load.  I reminded my DH the other day of that, so far I am doing better.  I have had a few anxiety attacks (been having them often for the past 2 years).  I would say it's not about being pregnant totally but my IL's are upset with me for something I did (really silly) and we are seeing them this week.  We live 300 miles from them, but are going to a NFL game in Seattle Thursday night.  I was looking forward to that, but now I am the DD and most of the fun is out the window.  We are staying with DH's parents and having an early "Christmas" on Friday.  I'm sure no one will want to talk to me even though now they know I am pregnant.  It just makes me freak out, even though DH says not to worry about it.

Oh my gosh that sounds horrible! I cant imagine having my in laws mad at me so I dont blame you for being freaked out... I hope your husband has your back. Have you thought about having a call with your MIL before you get there to clear the air and say you just want to have a good time and try to resolve it? I hope they don't hold a grudge against the future mother of their grandchild!  Being the DD is NO fun! I am so blessed to be pregnant but I did think about the 6 parties that we are invited to this holiday season. Lucky husband gets a new driver = ME!

Thank you for the concern, DH does have my back and has said all of that to MIL unfortunately it doesn't even include her but SIL.  But since it's her daughter I am the bad one.  It's fine I have come to terms with it, and will be ok while I am there.

This pregnancy is a HUGE shocker for us, I am mostly bummed about the game and missing out on the drinking fest, and I also turn 30 in January.  We were also planning a vacation in September for our 10 year wedding anniversary but now the money has to go to baby.  I feel beyond blessed to have this baby growing in my belly though so that out weighs everything ya know?

  • Yes....the mental breakdowns are tough.  But, your butterfly bush will probably grow back.  I chop mine down every fall.  They are pretty hearty, and grow amazingly fast in the spring. Smile

  • There's this Folgers coffee commercial that keeps playing...a soldier comes home, gives his little sister a small gift.  She puts the bow on his shoulder and says "you're my present this year" and they look at each other and smile...and then the parents are walking in the kitchen just in time to see this.  BAWWWWLLLIIINNGGG!!! hahahaha
