Sprinkle Question

Hi Girls,

I would post this on the Baby Shower Board, but they seem a little mean over there. My mom really wants to host a sprinkle for baby #2. My first is a girl, and she will be 3 when baby boy is born. We have all the big stuff already (and even a lot of small stuff), so the sprinkle wouldn't necessarily be to get gifts. I'm thinking less than 20 people at my house... brunch, no decorations or games, just a get together with friends. I have also had a few friends ask if I was going to have another shower.

I was looking up invitation wording online, and I'm not sure if I should specifically say (found these online):

She already has all the big baby stuff,
But having enough diapers can be kinda tough.
So let's sprinkle her with stuff like diapers and
wipes,
So she'll have what she needs for those long, busy nights.

OR

No need to buy all the big stuff this time
Cause big sister (name) is always kind.
She's going to share with the bundle of joy,
So just bring the small stuff for the new baby boy.

Or should I not say anything at all on the invites and just have the location info? I wouldn't know what to tell friends/family we need, as we really have everything, and we are looking forward to celebrating baby boy!

I like this wording

I don't see anything wrong with a small get together thrown by your mom, it's not like you are having the same gender. I'm sure your family will want to buy some cute trucks/boy clothes etc. I think every baby deserves to be celebrated for coming into this world.

My niece had a sprinkle, and a registry with all new pink everything, from pack n play, swing, you name....now that was tacky IMO. Her DS is only 14 months.

I would say the second one...its cute and if you say the first one you might end up with only wipes and diapers. Which is not bad at all unless you would not mind outfits and blankets and such as well.

I'm not sure you need to say anything. Keep your registry obviously basic, imo. I think those that would buy you something big know you well enough to know you don't need it. The only exception there would be your workplace. Many workplaces like go in on a big gift together so everyone can chip in $10 or so. You could let 1 person know casually in conversation that you don't need anything big- just want to celebrate with friends. I agree with pp that every baby should be celebrated. I don't want a whole lot of stuff. We're having another girl, so I'd really just like a cake lol. We have enough pink sh*t to last a lifetime! If anyone does throw me a sprinkle or shower I wish each of my like 5-10 friends would get me 1 cloth diaper. That would be such a help!

Baby smiles and giggles galore

Jessica is having one more

Big Brother Liam has plenty to share,

This is only a "sprinkle" to show that we care

Please join us to celebrate before the baby girl is due

I think this is really cute. I would def not include registry info. You could always combine this poem with a couple lines from the one you posted about the diapers and wipes.

I really like this one People will bring stuff regardless I would think though.

Thank you! I like the wording you added as well. I'll def. consider. Below are two others I didn't include bc I didn't know if I should specifically state that she has all the big stuff or not. Also, I'm not registering, so there would be no registry info. to include. Thanks again!
