Sorry it's taken me so long to finally getting around to posting this! Active mommyhood sure keeps me busy in wonderful ways.
So on Thursday, November 17th we had our weekly apt as usual. Going into the apt DH and I were planning on asking about induction. DH joked about "what if they want to induce you tonight". I laughed this comment off knowing how busy L&D always is. With the holiday coming up and knoing that my fam was going to be coming to visit, we really wanted our LO to have arrived, so we were hoping for sometime before then, but not expecting to get in right away.
So we get into the apt (of course I'm running late that day, but that's beside the point), and the Dr checks me. I hadn't really progressed beyond 1cm and was only about 60-70%. So the Dr asks how we feel about inducing. I tell her I'm all for it. She takes a look at some schedule and says...."how do you feel about coming in tonight?". I was absolutely FLOORED. I couldn't believe that they had a slot that night. So I said absolutely.
At about 10pm on the 17th DH and I checked in to L&D. Starting at about 10:30 that night they started cervadil to rippen my cervix. This started some contractions, so I only had to have 2 doses. Thankfully at that point, I was feeling contractions, but not really too uncomfortable. That was overnight, didn't really get much sleep.
Then in the am about 6:20, they started my pitocin and broke my water (and may I say...that is a WEIRD feeling!). They stared it off pretty slow with the drip of pit. The contractions became a little more intense. I ended up getting a small dose of Nubain which took the edge off (I think I got that at about 9ish). I was able to get some good rest in. All the while they were slowly upping the dose of pit. Around noon I had them place my epidural because they were getting ready to really ramp up the dosing. The nurse and doc kept checking me and steching my cervix.
Baby girl didn't want to be in the correct position at fist, so the nurse kept having me get into really strange positions. Very difficult when you are completely NUMB from the waist down! But eventually all of the turning paid off.
At about 1:30 pm I was checked, and complete! Time to start pushing! The nurse had me do some "practice" pushing. It was really diffucult, because I was almost too numb to really feel anything, but also, having to hold my breath for the pushes made me really light headed. My nurse was really great about coaching me though the contractions and telling me when to push, as I couldn't even feel pressure. I also had to be on some oxygen because of being so light headed. Then the doc came in to see how things were going. She had me do some pushing and wasn't really impressed with the efficiency of my pushing (again....it's kinda a problem being TOO numb). This went on for a little while. Finally we figured out I did best when I held on to a towel and pulled and someone at the other end pulled. We got our rhythm going and things went pretty well from there. Right at the end (pushed for about 1 1/2 hrs), baby girl got a little hung up in my pelvis, so I ended up with an episiotomy (very thankful for the numbness at this point) and Nadia Dorothy Grace entered the world at 3:04pm weighing in at 6lbs 14oz 20in.
We were released from the hospital on that Sunday and have been enjoying being at home learning how our new little family works!
Thank you all for all of your wonderful support! I truely love you all. I plan to lurk and post here occasionally. I will also be moving over to PAL (so I'm sure I'll see some of you over there as well.)

Congrats!
Enjoy her now while she's tiny as they grow so fast! DS was the same weight (a perfect weight in my mind!) at birth and is now around 16 pounds.
