Ergobaby and infant insert question

I just bought an Ergobaby carrier.  I try to use it for longer periods everyday, but I am wondering if there is a time limit to carrying a baby.  My daughter tends to fall asleep in it, so I can't really tell if she's not comfortable.  TIA!

Re: Ergobaby and infant insert question

  • Well, my LO seems to put her own time limit on it (she does great for about an hour but that is her max - after that she gets really mad.) I haven't read that there is a time limit from the manufacturer or anything.

  • If she falls asleep in the carrier, I think she's probably pretty comfy.  My LO won't sleep if she's not super comfortable. HTH!

  • So your LO does okay with the insert?  I really want an Ergo but I've read so many differing opinions about whether the insert is necessary or not and also that a lot of babies find it too confining.

  • I have an ergobaby and decided not to buy the insert, DD was almost 10 lbs at birth (she's about 12 lbs now) and I think the insert would have been too much, especially since I usually use it outside walking, she's bundled in warm clothing. I think the insert would be too snug and she never feels too loose. She loves it for quite a while! I've heard that some people just use a blanket wrapped around them instead of the insert. Save yourself $30 extra bucks.
