This is our first holiday season at daycare. I found out that the board of our daycare center collects money from parents for holiday gifts for the DC teachers. I think they consolidate all of the money and then give the teachers gift cards. WWYD in this situation?
1. Donate to the general fund for the gifts, and then give a nice card to your kid's teachers.
2. Don't donate to the general fund, but give gifts directly to your kid's teachers.
3. Donate to the general fund AND give separate/additional gift cards to your kid's teachers.
Re: Daycare holiday gifts - WWYD?
I'm guessing it's easier for a lot of the parents (they can just donate to the group fund and not worry about individual gifts) and it guarantees that each of the teachers get something.
my thought exactly!
Yeah, that's why I was thinking about #3. No one else would have to know that I'm giving something extra to M's favorite teachers (unless the teachers feel like telling other people).
