I'm pregnant with our 2nd child due February 10th. I have a bicornuate uterus. My DD was born at 37 1/2 weeks due to the BU. She ran out of room. Doc did an amnio at 37 weeks to make sure lungs were developed, and then out she came via c-section at 37 1/2 weeks. She was a peanut weighing in at 4 lbs, 15 ozs, still a peanut today

Curious if second-time mamas had experience with the uterus being "stretched out" from first pregnancy and were able to sustain the pregnancy longer giving the baby more room second time around. I'm 29 weeks now and all is fine so far with space in there. But it wasn't until around 32 weeks that my DD started to run out of room so it may be the same for this lil guy. Thanks in advance.
Re: second-time mamas with bicornuate uterus
Yes, very similiar stories! Thanks for your response. You know, they never told me the percentile for my DD, just that her growth was slowing down due to the uterus. High-risk doc called my uterus a "hostile environment" for her. Kinda harsh! LOL. I got pregnant in the right horn with my DD, and now the left horn with my DS. Should be interesting. I have the growth u/s done once a month. I am due for it in 2 weeks. He was measuring 2.2 lbs at 27 weeks. I'm not sure what that percentage is. How is your son doing now? My DD is still a peanut. She's just shy of 20 lbs at 21 months. Eating is such an ordeal
Nice to hear others make small babies too
lol. good luck to you.
I just plugged your DS's info into a growth calculator online and it said he was at the 45th %tile. That's great! Maybe your left horn is less "hostile" than your right.
DS has always been on the small side. He's always run in the 10th-25th %tile for weight and height. Eating can be as big of an ordeal as you make it. DS was sick a lot and always would lose his appetite when he got sick. I would supplement with Pediasure. We also used the book How to Get Your Child to Eat...But Not Too Much by Ellyn Satter. I learned that the more we focused on eating and pushed, the more DS would refuse to comply. Best of luck to you with your DD and the rest of your pregnancy!
Wow, I guess that's not too bad. Where do you go online to find that info out? Thanks for checking it out for me! DD isn't even on the growth charts
so I definitely understand that ordeal. I just pulled DD out of school because she was getting sick so often. Doc said she would greatly benefit if I pulled her out for a couple of months. It's been (knock on wood) a month now and she hasn't gotten sick since being out of school. Not sure what to do when baby comes. Not sure I can handle a toddler and a newborn at home together, plus she loves school and I think it's good for her. Definitely going to look into that book you mentioned. Thanks for sharing that. Good luck to you also with your DS and your new bundle of joy that's coming
