TTC #2 and Mirena

DH & I will probably start TTC #2 sometime next summer. I have a Mirena right now and I have an appointment to get it removed next week. My reasoning for having it removed so early was that I wanted to have time to get my cycles back to normal and start charting again before we TTC. But after reading the previous Mirena post and being reminded of how much my periods suck (after not having a period for almost 3 years), I'm having second thoughts about getting it removed so early.

So, those of you who have/had a Mirena, how long did it take your cycles to get back to normal? Were your periods worse/same/better than before? How long did it take you to successfully conceive #2?

    I had mine removed last Dec and our plan was to start TTC 3 cycles later.  We ended up pushing up our timeline because AF was horrible.  We started TTC in February and my cycles were all over the place -- anywhere from 23 days to 40+ days. It took us 3 cycles (4 months) to get pg.

    I Think I had mine removed in Jan/Feb then started TTC in May. My cycles came back quickly and we conceived Butterbean that first month of trying. For me everything after the removal was easy peasy.

    got my first period the day after removal. period started again 28 days later, ovulated two weeks later, baby nine months after that :)

    I had mine for three years with no periods. Got it out and had a really light period a few weeks later, conceived the next cycle. Had a miscarriage at 9 weeks. Then it took 5 more months after that to conceive DS. My periods post-Mirena were super light and lasted only 2-3 days, as opposed to much heavier beforehand. I think it is good to give yourself time to regulate and get a couple of cycles in.
