HI - I have not been able to find a bra or maternity bra thats just plain comfortable. I'm only 5'3" and went from a 36 B to now a 38 DD. I find with the bigger cup size bras, the sides under the armpit come up to high and cut me under the arm or dig into my boob. I normally wear anything with underwire.... Any recommendations?
THANKS!
Re: BRA RECOMMENDATION PLEASE
not sure where you are located, but you might want to try getting fitted for a bra at Trousseau in Vienna. I have a weird bra size that most stores, even high end ones like Nordstrom, don't carry. Getting the right size makes a huge difference comfort.
I second Trousseau, they are wonderful!
when I was pregnant, I bought sports bras at Target, I didn't want to spend a ton of money every few months as they got bigger and bigger
lol, if only target could ever carry a size that fits...if only...
Right there with you.
I initially got sized and bought bras at Nordstroms when I was pregnant. I bought nursing bras with the hope that they would fit me post pregnancy, and with one exception they all did. Once I knew my size, I started buying the bra brands I liked best on-line since the priced was often 10-15 dollars cheaper.
I used to be a bra specialist so I recommend going somewhere and getting fitted to get started. Sylene in Chevy Chase is great, but even Victoria's Secret can help. BTW, I'm a 38 DD and I love the Body by Victoria Full Coverage bra (the one with a little bit of lining). Also, if you're looking for something inexpensive and sexy--think lingerie rather than everyday--yet still comfortable to wear, Frederick's of Hollywood has a wide range of sizes. Stay away from Motherhood's maternity/nursing bras; the quality is abysmal, even considering the fact that they're really inexpensive.
