Anyone have experience with this?
Yesterday, my daughter had stage 3 pears and blueberries. About fifteen minutes later, she became really fussy when we were eating lunch and when I went to put her in her stroller, I realized her lips were blue. Not stained blue, lack of oxygen blue, but she was breathing. We rushed her to MIL because she is a nurse and the area around her mouth had turned blue too. MIL said she was pooping, and I noticed it running out of her diaper. Her diaper was nothing but diarrhea. I've never seen a BM so watery. As I was changing her, she started dozing off. MIL was talking to her, poking her cheek trying to keep her awake. She became very pale, and FIL was holding her and she just went to sleep (or fainted). DH put her in her stroller and when we went to take her back out, I noticed her eyelids were blue, so I jerked her out and she was limp. Like... seriously, just a ragdoll. So we rushed her to the first aid center (we were at Disney during all of this) and she was awake, alert and seemed happy. They took her temp, her pulsox, and her color returned and she has been fine since.
I've never dealt with allergic reactions before, and was wondering if this sounds like an allergy. I am calling the pedi tomorrow, just wanted to see if any other moms have had blueberry allergies before.
TIA!
Re: Blueberry allergy..
This doesn't sound like a food allergy to me...but then again, my experience with babies and food allergies is really limited to a really bad diaper rash, or a clear, my "throat is swelling" kind of reaction. Or hives.
This must have been scary. I'm sorry you had to go through it.
It could have been a number of things...was she getting enough to drink? Was she in the sun a lot?
