Umm...We bought a crib and a dresser

OMG 

So, my MIL wanted to buy us our crib and possibly our dresser depending on cost for our Christmas present this year which is definitely such a blessing, but also scary. So we spent all day Saturday shopping and finally settled on a set from BRU (they were having some great sales this weekend). So DH is excited, MIL is excited, I am happy to be getting a big expense taken care of but silently freaking out. All I wanted to do was go home and check LO on the doppler but we were out of town so I could not until last night (of course LO is fine).

So in a week or so, I will have a crib and a dresser for my LO sitting in my house.

    So exciting! My mother wanted to guy our crib. She says her parents bought mine and wanted to continue the tradition. I think the crib is definitely a "freak out" kind of thing, makes it seem so real! Congratulations on the coming together of your nursery!

    Thats awesome! Congrats!

    My ILs want to buy our crib too.... I already know what I want (did a ton of research the first time I was pregnant, bc I was naive and thought I could look everything and anything right away), so I'm tempted to share it with them now incase they can get a good pre or post xmas sale price on it.  However, I still feel like its too early to think about... stupid pgal brain!  Must be so exciting to actually have it though!

    How exciting! My MIL and FIL wanted to buy our crib too. They ended up breathing down my neck for weeks about it, because they really wanted to buy it, but I was really uncomfortable with having it in our house "too early". Then one day I woke up and realized that I only had about 13 weeks left and saw a whole bunch of people talking about how their cribs took 8-12 weeks to deliver, and started crying to DH about how we would never be ready in time for the baby, and that we had to get the crib and dresser NOW. Which we didn't even have to get shipped, we just picked it up right in the furniture store. Embarrassed

    So, even though it's a a slightly scary big step, at least you avoided a melt down like that!! Congrats on the purchase!

    We are reusing DS1's crib so there was no purchase but if you think it's going to be bad now sitting in your house....just wait until it's assembled in the nursery.  I about had a panic attack!!
