Pregnant after a Loss

Will I ever NOT be terrified for an ultrasound??

We have our 36 week appointment today, and we're having a growth ultrasound. I have been freaking out for the last few hours, just imagining all of the things that could be wrong. We haven't seen her since our anatomy scan, and all of these bad thoughts are going through my mind... what if my fluid is low? Or the cord is around her neck? What if they missed something catastrophic? What if something is wrong with the placenta and they have to deliver her early?

Arggg. I should be excited, but I am also panicked. Tell me nothing can go wrong at this point. She's moving like crazy, that means she's okay right? I can't believe I'm still so worried but that's PgAL I guess...

  • Take comfort in here moving around. That's my biggest tip. I still get all whacked out at every appt and u/s.

I look forward to an update where you saw LO doing all kinds of cute things at the u/s! =)

  • I get freaked out for every ultrasound too. My ultrasound tech actually knows me enough by now that one of the very first things she says to me is "The cord isn't wrapped around her neck..." because I always ask, usually on the verge of tears. So don't feel too bad, at least they don't know you as that crazy lady, like mine probably do for me!

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place.
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace.
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste,
    It all revolves around you.
  • Ditto what Karma said. She's moving around, so she's telling you that she's alright. ::hugs::

  • I hope one day I'll calm down about getting an ultrasound. Like everyone said, she's still in there and moving around so she's doing great!
