I know it's early to be thinking about it [I guess...], but which carriers would y'all suggest? Price isn't nearly as important as safety here, but how much would a good one cost?
Ergo for 3 mos +. I didn't get the infant insert, used a blanket instead. But, do be aware that their legs aren't supposed to be through the leg holes until 4 or 5 mos (I can't remember which - check the website or pkg). It is b/c their hips shouldn't be splayed that early.

It's a matter of personal preference. Decide what carrier type you think you'd like (stretchy wrap, ring sling, woven wrap, mei tai) and we'll help you spend your money on a pretty one! You can get an idea of prices by looking at some vendors.
