burping question

When is it that they don't need to be burped on their own?  One of my girls isn't burping much these days and the other still needs it every 2/3 ounces.  Is it just my kids?  Does size matter?  Neither are stilling up yet on their own.  Any ideas?  Anyone else not burping as often?

    I haven't burped Abbey in a long time...she usually lets one out once I sit her up...I suspect it's really just different for each baby.

    BTW I love your siggy pic...too cute that they are holding hands!

    Gavin & Gage are eating 6 oz and I used to burp them half way through, but they would throw a fit!! They don't like their food taken away!! So I just recently stopped burping half way through and now just burp at the end. Usually they will burp on their own when I sit them up, but I still pat them to get more burps out.

    We stopped a little while ago.  I just make sure he's sitting up straight for a few minutes and he does it on his own.

    This is exactly the same as my DS. He just started pitching a fit one day when we tried to burp him mid-bottle. We've been just burping at the end for about a month now.

    Same as op's, B would scream when I stopped half way through and that was at a pretty early age.  Now, I just do it at the end...if I remember at all!  Sometimes, I'm like "Duh!  I forgot to burp you!"  And other times he'll burp on his own as soon as I sit him up to burp him.

    D gives some pretty obvious "I need to burp!" cues, so I don't bother burping him unless he gives them. If I try to take his bottle before then, he screams!
