Hi ladies,
I had my second appt with the RE yesterday to discuss the results of my blood work and pelvic ultrasounds. All blood work was normal!! And DH's S/A was normal!! The results of the ultrasounds were not as positive. I already knew from past appointments that I have multiple polyps and fibroids. They are all small and can be removed without a major surgery. However, I didn't receive anymore guidance on the possible tube blockage?! So, the RE thought it would be best if I schedule my procedure to have the polyps and fibroids removed and at the same time they will do a HSG. If they find that the tube is blocked they want to either plug it or remove it at that time. So she wants me to decide before hand which one to do. Any of you decided to have one over the other?
Re: Tube plugged or removed?
I have a completely blocked tube and did neither. The GYN felt no need to do either. The first RE I went to thought I needed a repeat lap and try to unplug tube. THe 2nd RE I went to saw no need to do either. I have done a lot of reading on it and found that trying to open up the tube can actually put you at as much risk for ectopic as just leaving it alone.
ETA- I would do the surgery to remove the fibroids etc and check the tubes just not sure what to tell you about removing or opening b/c I didn't do either.
Sorry for just getting back to the board. I was traveling for the holidays. I truly appreciate your replies. I am thinking I will take it one step at a time. I will have the procedure to remove the fibroids and polyps first and decide later if one of my tubes is blocked what to do.
Thanks again!!
