Pottery Barn Anywhere Chairs

I know this question was recently asked, but I looked back and didn't see it.

My LOs are 8 months - and I'm trying to decide whether to get the PBK chairs for Christmas or birthday.  I'm leaning toward birthday, but my mom is wondering what she can get for the kids for Christmas.

Any unique gift ideas?  They have plenty of toys, I want to get them something that they will not outgrow in 6 months...

What are y'all getting your LOs for Christmas???

Re: Pottery Barn Anywhere Chairs

  • I'm still on the fence about the PBK chairs. Toys R Us has some really cheap foam chairs that I've considered buying instead, just in case they're not really into the chair thing.

I got the girls a Twilight Turtle, a FP Puppy thing (I can't remember what the name was, but it's not Scout or Violet), some PJs and a See 'n Say. I'm not going too overboard because I know that family is going to buy a bunch of stuff and frankly they're more interested in our Wii remote and paper right now. Wink

  • If you don't have any other ideas, I'd go ahead and get the chairs.  I don't have the PB chairs, but we have little rocking chairs.  My kids love them!  They were also great to take monthly pictures in once they started climbing all over each other and wouldn't sit still next to each other.

  • My LOs will be 9.5 months at Christmas.  I decided to hold off on the PBK chairs and do those for their birthday.  We are getting them the Laugh & Learn house and the FP Stride to Ride Dino, and some little stuff (blocks, books, etc) for their stockings, and some clothes.

MIL got them little stools with their names on them - super cute, and they'll use them for a long time.  Maybe something like that?

  • We got the kids PJs, blocks, soft baby dolls, and a couple of small toys.  Like PP said, I know our families will go overboard so we don't want to overdo it and I want to get stuff that they can grow into.

I put together an Amazon wish list for them to give our family ideas.  I think they're planning to get the kids a wagon and a couple of the push toys on the list.  We also let our family know that gifts for their college funds would be a great idea this year, since they're not really counting on any gifts. :)

  • We have the PBK chairs and my 18 month olds still don't really care for them. They will occasionally sit in one, but not very often and not for very long. Got them as a first birthday gift.

I always see toddler-sized chairs at TJ Maxx and Homegoods in the kids' section for MUCH cheaper (and more solid looking) than my PBK chairs were.

  • I wanted to get the PB Chairs for Christmas this yr (since we have a load of store credit there), but we ended up buying them a toddler couch for their bday of Mickey Mouse, which they love climbing over like an obstacle course.  What I love most about it is that it folds open to a bed, which they use for naptime.  We only bought one couch but only one naps on it.
