Re: tell me about your 33 - 34 weekers..or 3 lbers
I delivered DS at 32w5d. He was bigger (4lbs), so I can't speak to the size. But, I had gotten the 2 rounds of steroids and he never needed breathing assistance. They puffed his lungs right after delivery, but that was it. I don't know if it was the steroids or not, but I think they helped.
Best of luck to you and hopefully LO can stay cooking a little longer. T&Ps coming your way!
I delivered at 33+5. My dd was 3lbs, 15 oz. I received one round of steroids while they tried to stop labor but didn't make it to the second shot. My dd came out screaming and never required any breathing assistance. We had a 17 day nicu stay where she had to learn to eat and grow.
Good luck to you and keep us posted!
My guys were born at 33w 4d at 4lb 8oz and 4lb 9oz. I was admitted on a Wednesday, had my first steroid shot that day, the next one Thursday, and delivered them Friday night because of Pre-E complications. They both were on ventilators for a VERY short period of time, maybe 12 hours and then were fine to breathe on their own.
They both came home from the NICU about 10 days ago and are on monitors because of bradycardia episodes. Both are doing REALLY well though!
You can see her below!
She was born at 34 weeks via c/s... 3 lbs 14 oz. She stayed in the NCIU for 16 days with a feeding tube. She had an iv for the first few days due to mag.
I am convinced the steriod shot helped her! I had it a week before she was born.
I also had a 36 weaker who was 4lbs 10oz. He spent 4 days in the NICU to gain back weight and get his tan on. No problems regarding his weight either. He is 15 months old and 24lbs. Of course my babies were born not 33-34 seekers either though.
