Re: my story..may be joining you..longg
Wow, that's a scary weekend!
I'll be honest, I'm amazed they let you leave. At our hospital if they decide to do the steroids they keep you under observation until both are given to ensure maximum chance that you won't deliver. Are they sending you home on any anti-contraction medicine? Bedrest? I'd be very cautious if I were you. I was in the hospital for 4 weeks, so I definitely don't say it lightly as I hated every day there, but every day you can spend there and know that baby is okay is one less day of worrying at home.
Definitely take it easy if they let you leave. If they say bed rest, do it. It's no fun, but it's worth it if you can get that baby to 37 weeks at least. And especially after a car accident take care of yourself. Hopefully it was just the stress of the crash that brought on the contractions and they'll subside now that you can relax some.
Thoughts and prayers are with you!
This sounds wrong to me. Is there any way you can get a 2nd opinion? I know they don't stop labor after 34 weeks if your membranes have ruptured, but I didn't see that here.
Is there a reason they won't stop labor? Did you ask them?
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Please don't be afraid to ask for a 2nd opinion though.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

Ditto this!! I understand not stopping labor if you're 36 weeks, or if membranes have ruptured, etc. It seems extremely odd that they wouldn't stop labor at 33 weeks, though, if there aren't other reasons to deliver immediately. I know 33 sounds like it's "good" but 34.. 35... 36 make a world of difference.
