we have a barbie jeep and we got it at a rummage sale when DD was 1 because it was a screaming deal ($35), but she didn't try driving it till she was 2. And she still need help steering. By 3 she could do it all herself except backing out of the garage or getting out of a small area. Now at 4 she is a pro.
I say 2-3 is a great age to get one. HTH

DS got a jeep for the Christmas before he turned 3 (he has a late Jan.birthday) He loved it. He was afraid to go too fast at first but after a week he was racing around the cul de sac. He is about to turn 4 and he still loves it. In fact, it is what got me through this summer when I was in my third trimester with DD. I would sit up a chair in the shade and watch him race around in his jeep for hours with the other neighborhood kids.
I agree with previous posts, my DS started driving his when he was 2 with assistance, by 3 he was crusing on his own and now he is an excellent driver (actually pays better attention than my 7 year old nephew) - anyway, he still loves it to this day!

For boys, I say ages 2-3. We got DS one two Christmases ago right before he turned 3. He used it then (had trouble steering), and had pretty much mastered it by the next Christmas. He hasn't been into it in the last year, because for him it doesn't go FAST enough. He rides a two wheeler bike already, and rides a razor scooter like a pro. So, he will be 5 in january and this year he is getting the razor 360 trike. It was on sale on Black Fri for 59$ (regularly 89). I am planning on giving the Power Wheels to our neighbor for their 15 month old to use this summer since we know the baby we are currently pregnant with is a girl.

Why only for boys? Or is the one you have just too boyish and you'd get DD a girly one?
