Do they work? R is waking between 5-6 and it is too early! He has a frog that shines stars that he goes to sleep to (turns off in 20), but it is on his dresser so he can't get it on himself (like the twilight turtle). I turn them on for him again in the morning when he wakes too early and 20 min later they go out and he is calling to get up!
Should I give him the frog to turn on himself? Get a clock? They have the Ok to Wake clock on B&N for $20, will that help at his age? The stoplight clock gets horrible reviews as far as the little statue breaking off.

Claire has the alarm clock and has stayed in bed starting about three days after we got it. Not sure if it was the alarm clock alone that helped her but Claire has NEVER slept through the night (1 month when she was around 8 months old only) and now she does. She also used to wake up at 5 and now she sleeps until about 6:30.
One day we forgot to put it on and when she woke up she freaked...I turned it on and it went to red and she refused to leave the room because it wasn't green yet. I had to turn it off to get her out!
The light itself is cheaper looking. Claire doesn't play with it but I'm sure the little guy would snap off if handled a bit. I think I paid 28 on Woot.
M could care less about it, though he loves to play with it
the one i have i have set to turn on yellow at 8 pm then switch to green (ok to get up time) at 7 am. at first i would remind him every night before bed that he had to wait till the light turned green to get up but that hardly ever happened. i really don't mention it much anymore. and the few times i tried to reinforce it the green light rule in the morning was a total bust since 5 days out of the week i'm up at 6 am anyways for work.
Try setting it for the time he normally wakes up, then set it 5 minutes later every couple of days so you are working up to a reasonable time.
i did. when we first got the clock i had it set at 6:30 am, sometimes he would wake up before and sometimes after. and gradually i would add a few min to the wake up time, but this kid has no set time to wake up. one day it's 5, the next day he could sleep till 7:30. no rhyme or reason.
I want to order one, but hate to get it and have it be on woot in 2 days! lol
Hmmmm, I think the stop light would work best for R and not so much the one that just turns from yellow to green (ok to wake). He knows about stop lights and knows what the colors mean.
Thanks for the input!
Exactly this with Tyler too. The stoplight made sense to him from the beginning because he already knew green=go and red=stop.
