NPR: any ipod users?

My sister said she wants an ipod for her birthday, and we are considering getting her one.  I know she is not really expected to get one, so I don't want to ask her a bunch of questions and ruin the surprise.

What version do you have, and would you recommend it?  As far as I know she will be using it for recreational listening.  She is not big into working out or anything, so I doubt she will get too sweaty while using it (I read that this was an issue with the shuffle).

DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.

  • I'm on my second nano.  Not hugely impressed...but I have one of the older ones...wouldn't mind haven't the new touch screen version.

  • I have the Ipod Touch and love it.  DD loves it too.  I had an old nano and liked it for working out/recreational listening.

  • Have a nano that has pretty much gone to DD's room but that I used a lot for walking etc.  I use the ipod on my iphone all the time since I listen to a lot of books on cd - download to the ipod and listen to in the car. I know I can do that will my nano as well
