Growing up in Oregon we went to the Christmas tree farm every year the day after Thanksgiving to cut down our tree, and then we spent the rest of the day listening to Christmas music and decorating the house. Now that I live in Oklahoma, going to the vacant lot or big box store to get a tree just isn't the same... So I still try to keep the tradition of decorating the day after Thanksgiving, but the tree is now fake.
Re: Fake or Real? And if you celebrate Christmas, when do you put up your tree?

If we actually get one up, it will be real. Family tradition for DH.
Real. I love the whole tradition of picking out the tree, bringing it home, and the wonderful Chritsmas tree smell. We usually get it about 2 weeks before Christmas.
Real, as much I would like to do a fake tree every other year, when we spend xmas at my parents house in MN.
If you have a fake tree, and buy the mistletoe scented candles, you can almost make yourself believe it's real.

We've always gotten a real tree but this year we're going artificial. Crazy-SugarChick worries about her increasingly mobile LO eating pine needles off of the floor. Rational-SugarChick can't find any free space that isn't near a heating vent to put a real tree, and I worry about the tree drying out. I thought I had our real tree far enough away from a heating vent last year, but nope--dried out pretty quick, considering we bought it the week before Christmas (& decorated Christmas Eve).
When we had a real tree: we would buy it 2 weeks before Christmas. We'd let it "settle" for a day, then decorate it the day after we got it home.
Im australian and most everyone i know puts up fake trees as we just dont have many of those real trees here, and it will be summer so the real thing will dry out pretty fast, and also I hate the mess they leave lol
i put the tree up the first weekend of December and take it down before new year.
I love it
Ive never smelt mistletoe.
Real..... The day after Thanksgiving.
Fake (as we live in Florida)
and it went up Nov 14th. about a week earlier than usual but we were getting really warm temperatures and wanted to spark the Christmas cheer early. Now the house lights go up this weekend
Either way if your an early bird like me or the ones who wait til December it works if you like it that way
Merry Christmas!
