Crohn's, U C, or R A?

I have Crohn's disease, and I'm currently on remicade. My gastroenterologist wants to switch me off it, but.I'm really worried about having a flare. Is anybody else here on biologic therapy? If you have Crohn's or U C, what are you on? I'm making an appt with a new gastroenterologist, but right now, im kind.of uneducated.

    I have RA and was on Enbrel prior to starting back up on treatments before I got PG with DS.  I did really well off my meds, I stopped the methotrexate, enbrel and feldene to do treatments.  My rheumatologist said that she feels like all the hormones they had me on kind of tricked my body into thinking I was PG and I went into pregnancy remission early.  I had a few issues towards the end of my pregnancy, but it was manageable. 

    You should repost this on SAIF, there are a couple ladies that I think have Crohn's.

    Sorry, I can't really help with Crohn's or UC.  I have ankylosing spondylitis.  I was on Humira prior to my third IVF cycle.  But, after two failed IVF cycles, I consulted with an immunologist that had me stop Humira as part of my immune treatment for my IVF #3 protocol.  My perinatologist wanted me to stay off of it while pregnant.  Unlike many immune issues, apparently AS doesn't get better during pregnancy.  But, I a willing to manage as best I can.  I am still on sulfasalazine as all my docs felt it was safe and that it was better for me to take this than to risk spinal fusion while PG. 

    Good luck!  I know treatment options are limited while PG.  To some extent, you have to kind of pick and choose what you can and can't live with and weigh the risks.  I will say, my OB didn't have a problem with me being on Humira.

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    FET#1:  BFN

    I have Crohn's but it's been very much under control (only one major flare up a few years back). I was on Lialda for years, but actually went off it when we started our IVF cycle and seem to be fine without it (although I'm sure the prednisone I have been on has helped). I also take digestive enzymes and probiotics. Let me know if I can help with anything else!
