A friend of mine just had a baby girl with big sis Kylee Gracelyn

Although her little sister does not match her in a sibset, at least my friend came to her senses and named her second daughter a beautiful name.

Leisel Evangeline!! Yayyyyyy!

    I prefer the spelling Liesel/Liesl, but it's still a huge upgrade from Kylee Gracelyn. I love it paired with Evangeline. Great combination.

    I don't think Liesel is a big improvement.  How do you pronounce that?  I see it either rhyming with weasel, or LIE-sel.  Either way not really attractive.

    LEE-zul. It's German. I prefer the spelling Liesl, but either way, great name!

    This. Yes IMO.

    Started back on BC May, 2010; Had last shot on Aug. 2010
    TTC starting in November, 2010; Irregular cycles- went to Dr
    U/S showed cysts on both ovaries; Diag. Lap on March 1st, 2011
    Lap showed that my right fal. tube is centered, instead of to the right
    Left fal. tube is disjointed
    uterus is tilted and the size of a softball, not a pear.
    BFP on 8-30-11, 9-2-11, and 9-4-11.
    EDD is May 14, 2012. :)
    Babygirl born on April 16, 2012.

    I really hope she spelled it with L-I-E, not L-E-I... in German the "ei" or 'ie" is pronounced with the long second vowel (LIE = LEE and LEI = L-eye)

    I am surprised by how many people don't know this name. Have you ever seen The Sound of Music? The eldest daughter of Captain von Trapp is named Liesl. And, yes, it does rhyme with weasel.

    Bread&Jam, was thinking the same, I love Sound of Music! DH and I both tend to lean toward a German/Scandinavian taste in names. Our combined list includes names like Zelda, Matilda, Wolfgang, Thora, Thor, Liesl and DS is Axl.

    I guess names like this don't bother me because I work in a High School and I see some truly atrocious names come through every year. Most of them are just made up names with very weird spelling and God forbid if you pronounce them incorrectly. Something like Kylee Gracelyn doesn't bother me.

    I wouldn't say it rhymes with weasel.  Liesl is more Lees-l, whereas weasel is more weez- ul.  I'm not a huge fan of the name but I love it more than Kylee.

    Yeah I'm not seeing the improvement. She definitely went in a different direction but I'm not liking it. Her first child's name is cutesy and gaudy but the new baby's name just sounds ugly. Diesel Liesel.

    BFP #3: 10/2011 ectopic 11/2011 (right tube removed, learned left tube was probably nonfunctional due to scar tissue from infection after m/c)

    3 failed IUIs, IVF #1: 18R, 12M, 10F, 3 poor quality 5d embryos transferred= BFP #4!!!!!

    Betas: 9dp5dt: 64 ~14dp5dt: 91 (expecting miscarriage, doubling time of 236 hours) ~16dp5dt: 200~18dp5dt: 500

    First Ultrasound at 6w2d revealed two sacs, only one with a heartbeat

    LK arrived after 42 weeks on August 14, 2013! Beautiful, healthy, and happy!

    TTC#2: IVF booked for April 2015

    Surprise BFP#5 February 19, 2015 EDD: November 2, 2015

    Betas: 10dpo: 10, 14dpo: 77, 17dpo: 270

    First Ultrasound at 5w1d showed a miracle UTE baby! And right ovary ovulation to left fallopian tube.

    JD arrived at 38 weeks on October 20, 2015.

    While I dont like the spelling of Kylee, I think its far better then Leisel.   How is Kylie any different then any other ie ending name? Are they all bad? No I dont think so, in fact some of the biggest longest running names end in ie....  I will agree that its somewhat trendy, but trendy isnt the end of the world.  And to the poster who is posted this about her friend, I hope your friend doesnt see this post as it would likely hurt her feelings, knowing you dont approve of her first daughters name and that your posting about it on the internet, yikes I wouldnt want to be in your shoes if she found out!  (I never understand why people post these things on the internet at the risk of damaging a relationship, but to each their own)

    To the poster who said Kylee is gaudy....that's extreme.

    My thoughts exactly. No matter how much you don't like a name you should go behind your friends back and post about it on the internet. Says a lot about a person and their "friendship" What if she posted the same about your name choice?
