all I can think about is people calling my baby sea-bass which might be a cool nickname in high school or with his buddies when hes in college... not while hes in a swaddling blanket.
Its a cool name but I cant see it on a baby. What do yall think?
I love it! I worked with a guy named Sebastian for a month, and it took me a few weeks to think of calling him Sea Bass. I tried it out once for fun, but it's not like everyone went around saying that.
Honestly, I think that Sea Bass is a stretch. Sebastian could be cute on a baby, but if you aren't into it, keep looking! You've got to love your child's name.
It's one of my favorite boy names (and I don't have many!) but DH goes back and forth about whether he likes it. I never once thought of Sea Bass when I heard it.

Love this name! We know one little boy by this name and his nickname is Sebi (seh-bee). Bastian is also another nickname which I love. I would have NEVER come up with Seabass...
I know a few Sebastians. Most don't go by a nn (one mom complained that she hadn't realized what a mouthful it would be to say it all time). I know ona that is called Seb or Sebi. Sadly, one's mom calls him Bash, which I think is terrible.
My ds has a speech delay and he has a lot of trouble saying this name. He gets out Bashon. So that's something else to consider. If your child has a speech delay (or a future child) it will be difficult to pronounce for a little while.
Sebastian is super cute and rarely heard. I thought of 95,000 boy names when I was picking out names for my twins, I forgot all about this one until I saw a precious little boy names Sebastian a few months ago. I like it!!
NMS but... all the sebastians I've know go by the nn "bastian."

One Sebastian (8) I know doesn't go by a nn.
Another soon to be born Sebastian Alexander will have the potential to use Sasha as the nn.
