Holy smokes! I can't believe how few bottles your kids take! Is that a BFing bottle feeding thing? Mine would never last that long without nursing. As for solids, mine definitely eat more solids at this age than my oldest did. I think I'm more tolerant of a little gagging as a normal part of learning to eat solids, whereas with my oldest, I'd back off at the slightest gag. Also, I started giving them things to gnaw on around 6 months (think big pieces of raw broccoli). Not for eating purposes, but to get them used to different texture. Anyway, I just started with pea sized food and helped them eat, hoping to move towards just putting it on the table for them (because I have too much to do at meal times!) Now they mostly self feed unless I'm giving them yogurt or something.

I definitely think it's a BF vs. bottle thing, but not so much a breastmilk vs. formula thing. Once I switched from boob to bottle the number of feeds they had dropped drastically (I think I was nursing 7 times a day and with bottles I was able to drop to 5 feeds a day). We are down to three bottles a day (about 16 oz for Reese and about 18 for Ryan) and I know if I was still nursing that wouldn't be a possibility.
I don't know why it was different, but it definitely was and I know it wasn't a supply thing since I could pump 8-12 oz PER SIDE when I was nursing.
Re: schoolsout
I am definitely not enjoying BFing as much as with O since I'm corralling someone with my feet while doing it (instead of cuddles), but I'm hoping to make it through flu season. They're so fast now, I may as well, I guess. The vasospasms could stop at any time, though!
