fever on/off since Monday.... now sweating during sleep?!

We've had DS in to see the doctor twice this week. He's had a fever up to 103.9 since Monday. We had to give him tylenol & ibuprophen together to get it down one day. Now he is sweating so badly that his clothes are soaked. He doesn't have a fever at the moment.

The doctor doesn't know why he has the fever. He doesn't have any other syptom (runny nose, cough, diarrhea, vomitting, sore throat, ear infection, sinus inf. lungs... etc) The only thing is the fever and he did have 3 different raised rash like places that went away within an hour.

We talked to the doctor about doing bloodwork if he's not better... so scary when they're sick and you just don't know why.

    Usually the sweating means their fever is breaking.  Could it be roseola?  When DS had it, he only had the high fever and then a rash after it broke.  If it is, it's viral and there's nothing you can really do except keep him hydrated.
