Or their SO's family?
This year, we are with DH's family. So far:
We have 7 pounds of potatoes for 6 people.
I've poured out one glass of my MIL's (trying my best to keep her from getting too drunk too early. It's a problem.)
And my FIL just took the buttermilk that expired 1 month ago out of the trash (where I threw it away) and poured a glass. I might be sick.
Anyone else?
Re: Am I the only one that wants to share the craziness that is their family?
We rebelled this year and skipped all family. It was just me and DH, and it was perfect. I highly recommend it! Although I'm sure we were the hot topic at my sister's (where the rest of my family went) all day.

Thanksgiving is usually just us at our house. Meredith got grabby with the rolls right when they came out of the oven and now has a 3 inch burn across the inside of her wrist. Alex refused to nap today, and he was literally about to pass out right before we plopped him down at the dinner table. He then screamed and refused to eat anything other than rolls and juice. Zelda (golden retriever puppy) stole part of Alex's dinner from the table, so we put up the baby gate and locked her in another room and spent the rest of the meal listening to her yelp. She then escaped and tore part of the leftover turkey carcass apart and ran off with it.
We don't need relatives to have craziness. We are the crazy.

I just noticed that the old family photo with German SS relatives has now been framed. ::buries face in hands::
Im thankful for Xanax that I've squirreled away for occasions like this.
Awesome. It's like A Christmas Story come early!
That does not sound fun!
Now Alex has a second wind. He's run around the living room shrieking, jumping, climbing on stuff, and then followed it up by biting my arm and trying to pick my nose. Really, we aren't fit to socialize with normal people.

Thanksgiving went well until my SIL/BIL were packing up to head out. My BIL was holding his 1-year-old really terribly (like, he was holding him laid out, but only really holding one leg because I think he was going to put him down?) and the kid squirmed out of his dad's arms and fell to the tile floor. SMACKED his forehead on the floor and instant swelling/black bruises. OMG, it was horrid! I felt sick.
Other than that, all was great!

Oh honey, that sounds truly miserable. I'm so sorry!
Does she drink like my MIL? Bc I'm not sure how to explain that behavior otherwise.
