Receiving blankets

I got a million receiving blankets from my baby shower and I used them for swaddling in the beginning.  But I haven't used any in months.

What are you guys using your receiving blankets for?

Re: Receiving blankets

  • Oh, babycakes, with your October Thanksgiving! Wink

You might not get many answers today, but I am taking a break from the festivities.  We use ours to cover him in bed. He loves to cocoon himself in a blanket! We also cover his legs in his carseat with a blanket when it's cold outside.

  • Haha yea I'm pretty bored over here but I guess you guys spending time with your families is more important =P
  • I nurse lying in bed so I put them down so he doesn't dribble milk on our comforter. :P

  • I keep them all over. In the car for a light blanket or random changin pad while we're out. I have one also to wipe my wIndsheild when it fogs up. They make good extra dish towels, and I put one down on the changing pad after thor's bath so the cover doesn't get damp from his towel.

  • They make great snapping towels.

  • I have so many that I do nothing with. I have just saved them if I have another LO, and even then I have enough to give me sister when she and her DH have a little one.

  • I use them for everything. I keep a couple in the diaper bag for change mats or to cover other people's furnature when I'm nursing the baby. To cover him in the car when a blanket is too heavy.  To cover him when he is sleeping in his chair (yes he still sleeps in his rocking chair.)

Oooh, very good ideas!  Never even thought about using them for NBR things.

Wow.  It took me waaayyyy too long to realize this was in reference to babycakes being Canadian.  ::sigh::  I was like, whaa?

As for what I do with the receiving blankets, I keep them in a nice neat stack in Jack's closet.  That's about it. lol

I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

lol you crack me up, Halo =P

And thats totally what I've been doing with Griffs receiving blankets.  Totally collecting dust.

  • We still use them pretty frequently, especially now that the weather's getting colder.

I cover him with them for naps, in his carseat, in the stroller, I use them when I'm nursing, I use them in a pinch as a changing table cover, I always keep one in the diaper bag, etc.

I used one just today b/c we went to the park & his teeth were chattering in the swing but cried when I went to take him out b/c he just lovesss swinging! - so I covered his front with a receiving blanket & he was nice & cozy while swinging.
