Santa is trying to bring DH & I iPhones so we aren't doing much for each other. SIL picked my name so I gave her a list of a few movies, books, & cds I would like. I also added to the list in my perfume since I am getting low, gift cards to a few places and fuzzy socks.
I wish DH had more romance in his gift buying. Last year he did buy me a string of pearls that he picked out with Emme. I would love a Mommy necklace but I doubt DH would think of that.
DH is going to get a griddler, some clothes, books, and a few misc. toys for his desk at work.
I want an iPhone, but there are uber expensive here I also want a zipper foot for my sewing machine. Not sure what I'm getting. DH is the best with gifts, and I am the worst.
I want a zoom lens for our camera. The camera was supposed to be DH's thing but it seems that I use it 90% of the time. I'm not sure when I became the family photographer.
I saw people posting about that soda thing Kelly posted about and it has me intrigued.

I started a list (boring stuff like jeans and nursing bras), then found half the stuff on it is on sale right now. Now I'll probably end up buying it for myself and have nothing on my list.
DH hates shopping off my list. But I make one every year. OTHERWISE, my mom gives me random Boston terrier themed stuff. Like a GIANT blanket with a picture of my dog on it.
On my list this year are things like a pair of Tom's shoes, a few books, prenatal massage, prenatal yoga classes, gift certificate for a pedicure, a new bathrobe, things like that!
i have a running amazon list with books and music and kitchen gadgets and camera equipment on it. ILs cannot function without a *very* specific list and the amazon universal add button just makes it easy.
a sampling: the new Decemberists album (long live the king), 2 lenses and a speedlight, a picnic cookbook, hampers from the laundress, some blankets (one in the family tartan)...

I used to feel the same way, especially when I was young and single. Back in the days of higher disposable income I just bought stuff when I wanted it so there wasn't a lot of stuff left over come Christmas and I always felt like a greedy jackass suggesting something expensive. This is one area where struggling a bit more financially has helped me. 1. I realized that I bought myself way to much crap 2. I have good stuff to put on a list and can range it all the way from the stocking stuffers to a couple high end items for my parents and 3. When you've got big list you don't know exactly what you are getting (I'm with you and I hate that!).
So for myself........I really want a pair of cool flat boots, a new handbag is desperately needed, I want a pair of leather, cashmere lined gloves, some earrings, my car detailed, massage, house cleaner to deep clean, a paper shredder, some mineral based powder (I've found if I ask for make up stuff at Christmas it pretty much lasted me right up until Christmas again so it's perfect and people think they're fun stocking stuffers.
I know the feeling...I just want Project Life and I think that's gonna get shelved since I found a beyond awesome deal on something else at Costco. Maybe I can request it for my b-day.
I started a wishlist on pinterest...although some of them are things I would never ask someone to get me (lenses for my camera that are $$$$$$$$). And I should probably remove the ones I already got (my hunter rain boots and ipad!)
