My FIL works at a nursing home and wants to bring 8 week DD up to show her to co-workers and residents. Am I being overly paranoid in not wanting to do this?

    Yeah I dont think so...there could be tons of germs. It is not so much that it is an old peoples home its just that it is flu season in a place where people have decreased immune systems.

    Not to mention they will be allllllllllll over LO -in her face, touching her face, hands... That would be a big, fat NO from me. She's not a toy to pass around and show off.

    I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a hateful, overprotective mom. Elderly people tend to be more touchy for sure.

    not a great thing I work with the elderly and they have low immune systems and there could be residents with mersa tb and other serious diseases not a great place to be. Granted I took my ds to the nursing home for trick or treating but he was in his carrier which was in his stroller and he only saw one residents and that was great nana who is will be 100 in a few weeks and is fit as a fiddle and he is fine but you dont know where co workers have been and if they are good handwashers and their scrubs you don;t know whats on them. Im not a germ a phobe but when I go back to work my scrubs come off first and good hand wash with sanitizer because the elderly dont know or dont remember everything thats wrong with them had alot of oops moment I had this that or another disease and later find out it was contagious.
