A lot is going on in our Parenting Land...latest updates?
QOTD: What do you call your spouse in front of friends/family/(if so) your children/ and (finally) when you are alone together (NO, not THAT way, just in general *smile*)?
With family/friends/kids/alone I usually say babe, I rarely say her name. In public I usually say her first and middle name together. She probably feels like she is a kid again getting into trouble. Not really sure why I do it guess it just comes out that way!
Update: I'm on CD14, just waiting for that +OPK! Feeling positive!
AOTD: No kiddos yet, but I think we'll call each other momma/mommy when they're around. We call each other babes/babe/baby in private, first names in public.
Update: We have (another) walker!!! Like, for real, 15 steps in a row type walker!! I always joked that my goal would be having her walking for her birthday and wouldnt you know it?! That baby made it true! She's also babbling her head off these days so I'm thinking a word or two might follow shortly. Sprout has had another great week - he has made parenting very easy lately...i cant even remember the last time i had to really discipline him... but, just to make sure i'm not missing it or anything, RB has been c-r-a-z-y. OMG with the terrible two's. But I will say that she did wonderfully at her marathon of doctor appointments yesterday - the good news is that she complied beautifully with all of their testing and we got good, accurate results. The bad news is that her left ear is still very bad...the eardrum was basically not vibrating at all meaning significant hearing loss. Poor peanut thankfully the hearing in her right ear is so strong that it compensates and there doesnt seem to have been any speech impact.
QOTD: We call each other a variety of things and the environment rarely matters: babe/honey/sweetie/mama/mommy/first name.
ATP - Everything is good around our house. Now that DD is in a toddler room with a bathroom the potty training will start in earnest. She now tells me when she has to pee and will often just pull her pants down and waddle towards the bathroom. I'm not expecting miracles but I am hoping we might be out of diapers before two.
QOTD - babe/K(but the full version) I think in front of family we're more likely to use our full names but that is only because with so many people there are lots of 'babes.'
The only time I'll refer to K as mama is if I'm talking to DD, as in "Go give that to your mama." We are not the type to refer to each other as mom/mommy/mama.

We're scheduled to see a lawyer re the donor/legal/etc issues! Yay!
QOTD: We have a zillion nicknames, none of them traditional "terms of endearment" that we end up using. We don't have kids yet, but when it happens, we have it easy. She's not going to speak to them in English so the term "mum" is going to be all mine!
Well, my TTT had my kid update in it. I have one very sweet child and one child who is hellbent on testing every limit he can. We really need to go back and re-read Love and Logic - positive phrasing doesn't roll so easily off my tongue and we need to stop telling him everything in the negative. It is a total shift in thinking.
QOTD: I typically call L a nickname of her first name (the first part of her name) which no one else does. Occasionally we use "hon", but pretty rarely. I used to call her "honeybear" all the time - but haven't in years. I never call L "Mom" unless I am talking about her to the kids. It just feels creepy to me (perhaps it is because of our age difference and people already thinking she is my mother *shudder*)
PAP: We need to get into a bigger house but I don't think it's one of J's priorities right now. I think we are going to buy a van in the near future.
TTA: Still in communication with our adoption supervisor about the babies I last inquired about, no news from their SW's yet. If I can be honest, J has said she doesn't want to take anymore children in, foster or adopt, until she sees a change between me and Iz (see latest blog post for more details).
ATP: Everything is pretty mellow with the girls, their behavior is about equal, mostly great with a few corrections needed here and there.
QOTD: In front of family I call J hunnie or a shortened version of her full name, same thing in front of the kids. She gets Jubby (combo of her first initial and hubby), Muffin, and Muffin Buns when it's just the two of us.
ATP: Gwen is definitely getting closer to two... she knows what she wants and she wants it NOW. Except when she doesn't. But she's still my little love muffin, and is so much fun.
QOTD: When I'm talking to Gwen, I call him Daddy. Otherwise its a mix of Trav, Love, Hun, and That Guy (LOL).
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
ATP: E had me cracking up last night. When I went to pick her up at school she was playing with a rubik's cube. She was still holding it as we were leaving and I asked if she needed to put it back. She said no mommy, this is MY unisex cube! I said it's your rubik's cube? Yes mommy. Her teacher recently instituted a sticker reward program and for 10 sticker days in a row they get a prize from the box. Yesterday was the first time and she chose a rubik's cube. I have NO IDEA where she got the word unisex but I was trying not to laugh because she said it so seriously.
PCP: C and I talked more about the donor thing, and while we didn't make any decisions, I think we both understand where the other is coming from better. At this point our main focus is getting things wrapped up here and getting ourselves moved to Chicago so we can start the next chapter of our lives. I know I keep saying this, but we have a TON to do. I can't quite wrap my head around how we will get it all done.
AOTD: In front of other people, I call C by her first name. On our own, I call her "honey", "sweetie", and "sweetpea".
Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm. I am 35 and carrying. Endometriosis and DOR. AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish
Just enjoying our little pumpkin. Put the "newborn" sized clothes away. Sigh.
Still eating every 2 or 2 1/2 hours. Trying all the Baby Whisperer tricks. I'd love a slightly longer stretch at night. But he's such a sweet baby I can't complain.
QOTD: I call her by her first and middle name a lot. She calls me Jeannie sometimes. Honey, Fave (short for favorite), doesn't matter public or not. Sometimes, if we're talking to/for Pumpkin we'll say "mommy or mommy l" or "mama or mama jean"
TTC: IUI #3 was this afternoon. Everything went well and I got lots of Clomid questions answered with the midwife. For some reason I am feeling super positive about this one. It's probably because I just logged on to the CCB website the other day and saw that our donor now has a reported pregnancy. I was worried he was a dud, because he'd been on the market for about 10 months with no reported pregnancies and there were a few discussion threads on their website about how women were having no success with him. But we were sort of attached and thought we'd stick it out a few more cycles. Go team!
QOTD: In public I use her full first name. At home, even around family and friends to some extend, we tend to call each other honey, but I also have an arsenal of weird made-up pet names for her. The one that comes to mind is "Pickle Pie," but there are lots. I am a dork.
