I have a confession & a vent

I absolutely HATE having to spend turkey day with my ILs. Since my family is scattered all over the world, we spend it with them every year. FIL insists on smoking the turkey and I don't really like the taste or smell of it. Also the men go over to their house around 10am, to help and drink whiskey. By 4pm all the men are drunk on whiskey and LOUD. Since E still naps, she and I will stay home until after her nap and then head over there. The house is not childproofed nor do they have any child friendly toys. So I will have to drag a huge diaper bag with enough toys to entertain her for several hours. I won't have any parenting help from DH and SIL will be busy with her new little one. I won't get to drink at all since DH will be drinking all day and I will have to sit there AND be pleasant.

    I feel your pain. Did you read my CW? I know this is the time of year to be thankful but I am NOT thankful about tomorrow. Infact I would be thankful for the stomac flu right now. That is how badly I don't want to go.

    (((hugs))) I know how you feel, I dont have to put up with them tomorrow (thank god) but I do have to deal with them for a dinner on Friday and I absolutely, do NOT want to go... ugh

    Thanks ladies. I can't talk to DH about it because it is his family. I was venting to him one time about his family and he just blew up about how I never have anything nice to say about them. So now, I just smile and vent here.
