LO twitches and wakes up..help what do I do?

My LO will be 7 weeks tomorrow, she sleeps very little during the day time and at night we swaddle her and she sleeps around 6 hours straight but recently she has been learning to get her arms out of the swaddle and as she dreams she twitches and wakes herself up. I'm going crazy because the swaddling was the only thing helping her sleep longer stretches and now that she can get out of it she only sleeps about 2 hours at a time. What can I do? TIA

    The Magic Sleep Suit works for us.  It helps to muffle the twitches.

    Try a different swaddle. There are others that may give you better results.

    This. We lovingly refer to it as the "baby straightjacket" in our house.

    Have you tried a swaddle pod? We picked one up yesterday...trying it tonight.

    According to the nurse when DD 1 was born it's a good thing when they startle themselves awake because it prevents SIDS. I was worried because DD hated being swaddled and I thought all babies were supposed to be swaddled but she said it's not even highly recomended any more. They outgrow the waking themselves up phase pretty fast so I wouldn't worry to much.
