If you're at work- are you hoping your boss will tell everyone to leave early? I told dh to send everyone home by 2. He thought people would like a quiet day to get work done. Silly man.
I'm hoping my husband will come home early. His boss has been gone since noon on Monday and pretty much all the other folks he works with will be gone by noon today.
Of course, DH takes this as a sign that he can get some quiet, uninterrupted lab time in since he'll be the only one there, and he plans on working the full day. *sigh*
Sucks being married to someone with such a good work ethic.
DH has a proposal due by the end of the day. Seeing as he's been working on it until after midnight for the past two nights, I don't think he'll be submitting before five. Sadface.
Ummm yes. And I will be pissy if it does not happen. Your DH is sweet, but he is craaaazy to think people want a quiet day to work while the rest of the family is probably home celebrating.

Yes, it does. Shockingly, my DH took this whole week off to head out to the farm early to get some work done with his dad. Got all the work done Monday afternoon, so he came home. I fully expected Mr. Work Ethic to go back to work yesterday and today, but to my shock and awe, he didn't! He's actually been getting things done at home that have been on his honey-do list for months! Yay for new bathroom fixtures!!
As for me, yes I am hoping. In fact, our Big Boss (the Chief) is off today, and the Asst Chief mentioned yesterday how he "usually lets his folks go a few hours early"... So we'll see.
I really want to run out and grab an ice cream, but I don't want to miss the announcement if he makes it!!
They most likely will (and have the last 9 years I've been here), but I'm going to head home early on my own volition. :P
No, I am not as dedicated as some. That's no surprise with my current work environment, though. (think mediators)
DH is at home cooking a turkey, dressing and sides. He asked me no less than 5x from last night to this morning to stay home and help him out. I need to be there to turn on Christmas music!

Surely he wouldn't make the announcement during lunch time? While I would regularly rec ass.in.seat, you're probably not going to be a happy camper if 2 rolls around and he was referring to 3:30.
It's lunchtime. Get some ice cream and soak up a bit of sunshine to make any remaining time more bearable.
We've already gotten the email that we can send everyone home at noon (paid) but keep a skeleton crew to keep the offices open. I've already sent my staff home. I've farted around so much all week so I have to stick around to finish things since I'll be out of the office all next week. My co-worker and I will decide who will stay until 5 and one of us will leave around 3.

This!! I'm hopin' and prayin' to get out early. Its doubtful though.

This is my husband today as well. He looks forward to the peace and quiet. sigh.
Well I work from home so there is no being sent home early. But, I was hoping to not have much to do today- so I wouldn't really have to do anything other than answer emails. Unfortunately I did not get as much done Mon and Tues as I had hoped - so that probably won't happen. I did take the morning off though- but now need to work. I do hope to have everything done by 4 and not work again until monday though! Guess I better get working if that is going to happen.

I'm probably not helping with the eleventy billion tickets I've submitted the last couple days. Sorry about that.
I signed up for waaaaay too many extra shifts this week. I still have 4 more shifts to go this week.

Re: Poll: are you hoping to be sent home early today?
I would hope but I know there is zero possibility for it. My boss took the day off and the rest of us are here "working" away.
My boss is pretty lame like that though. He doesn't even give us the day after T-giving off - I have to take it as a PTO day.

With ya. I took off tomorrow, but next week is going to hurt. And I don't mean in the "hurt so good" kind of way.
Aaaand, we were given the go-ahead to "leave whenever, if you don't have anything going on". Which I don't. So I'm outta here!
Happy Thanksgiving, ladies! May you all have an enjoyable weekend with your families and friends!

Yeah, and you can stop now!
