My friend has a 17 mo. old and just found she is pg with twins yesterday. She is in shock and trying to wrap her brain around the news.
Is there a good book (not that she has time to read!) or a gift I can send her that will be helpful in these early stages of pregnancy (10 weeks) or in general?
TIA
Re: Best gift for Twin Shock? She just got the news....
Dr. Luke's book is highly recommended, though I never read it myself.
I enjoyed "I sleep at red lights." It's a first hand account from a dad of triplets. An amusing read!
Otherwise, you could give her "coupons" for dinners once the babies come, or maybe offer to babysit for her as I remember how exhausted I was the first trimester!
Thanks for the recommendation!
Just let it sink in for her for now! Then as she gets further along, maybe offer to take her older child for an afternoon here and there so she can rest. She will be physically exhausted. And get her gift cards for diapers
!
My BFF set up a Care Calendar for me, and then emailed all my friends and family to sign up to bring us dinner or help with housework after the twins were born. It was incredible, and I'm not sure how we would have managed without all the help.
I really enjoyed reading this book:

It is written by a mother of twins and it was very real and funny. Granted I did not have a 17 month old while I was pregnant so it was easier to read.
You could watch her 17 month old while she gets a pedicure. That would be a real treat for her especially when she is not able to reach her toes anymore ;-)
My most memorable gift was when my sister gave me two matching newborn onesies. They were white and brown stripes, so they could have been for boys or girls. Looking at two little outfits in front of me, I was just in aww that soon there would be two little babies in front of me.
I also enjoyed later in pregnancy when I was exhausted when someone would take DD out for a fun outing while I got some much needed rest!! Maybe you could print some "Afternoon Out With Your LO" coupons for her to cash in later when she really needs a break.
I would love a friend to get me either one of these
