So let's do a combination of Unpopular Opinion and FFFC!
UO. I get that we are all excited about showing off our new blossoming bumps but can we please keep the hump day bump day posts to just ONE post instead of having 5 different ones on the page? Hopefully when hump day bump day becomes a little more popular we'll have it figured out.
FFC. My child's favorite phrase right now is "God dammit" Ugh. Mommy needs to learn to watch her mouth when she's frustrated.
Re: I doubt people will be here much on Thursday/Friday
UO: I absolutely HATE the fact that stores are opening at midnight or even earlier on Thanksgiving/ Black Friday. I'm appalled at the amount of employees who will be forced to skip Thanksgiving dinner with their families because they will need to sleep-- most are scheduled for 6-12 hour shifts throughout the night. I feel like consumerism is taking over all of our holidays, and I'm so over it. I just wish we could get back to family values and respect for tradition. I am not shopping on BF for the first time in many years.
FFFC: I ate an entire can of crescent rolls (yes, all 8) because it's the only thing that would stay down yesterday. They were really good, though!
UO: It gets really old how people freak out about sex vs gender. Yes there is a difference but people get so butt hurt about it.
FFFC: I went to bed at 7 pm and slept until 11 this morning. I am sick and really needed the sleep.
I feel that while everyone has a right to be upset of retail workers "having" to work whatever obscene hours on BF, I personally, am tired of hearing/reading about it. Yes, its a tough economy and its extremely difficult to find a job, and yes, those people should be thankful to have a job, yada yada yada. BUT its retail. Its the holidays. I feel that I hear more people complaining about it who aren't working it then I have who are. I agree that consumerism has gotten out of control, but a few people boycotting the sales aren't going to make a difference. I'm not going to bring up the non-retail employees who will be working Thanksgiving and BF, such as police, doctors, military, etc, although I've yet to hear/read more then an "MH has to work Turkey Day but at least we'll be able to spend the weekend together."
^^Thats just my two cents though, everyone is entitled to theirs
My FFC: I went into Target today and almost bought a smaller thing of dish soap so I could get a package of oreos and stick to my budget. I didn't, but really wanted to.

UO: I like the Muppets, I really do, but I am so sick of hearing about the new movie. They are showing up everywhere. We get it, there is a new Muppet movie!
FFFC: I ate Carl's Jr for lunch yesterday and I really enjoyed it. At this point, if I am craving it, I am gonna eat it. I know that is really bad to think, so I need to get better about it.

UO: There seem to be one or two people on this board with major superiority complexes. Sometimes there is a fine line between being snarky (which I appreciate) and being a royal cvnt bag. Calling someone an "idiot" in response to her question tends to put you in the latter group.
FFFC: I am running out the door the second my boss leaves today!

I couldn't have said this better myself. I grew up in this situation. Only my problem is that my parents still try to decide who I spend my holiday with, so I have put my foot down and spend my holidays at home with my own children and husband. If they want to see me and mine, they can come to me!!! They do not get this concept and are actually pissed at me much of the time because I don't put up with it anymore.

UO: I dislike the taste, sight and smell of Turkey. I am excited for the side dishes!
FFFC: I am not a big fast food person, but when DH and I are driving to FF restaurant, we tell each other what it is we are ordering. Lately, when it is my turn to order, I spur of the moment throw 2-3 more things onto our order, just incase I am still hungry, or for later.
kinda similar...but dh's family thinks that every holiday should be all about them. we all have our own lives and families. they expect us to be with them christmas eve and christmas morning and christmas evening.
THIS YEAR IS THE CHANGE
Dh's sister is with a bf with two kids so she has to juggle that, and this year i am not rushing from my brothers to be at his parents for a second brunch and presents. no way. dh's sister tried to talk the in laws into just a present exchange around noon, no 10 am brunch and they flipped their lids. i told dh this and he said he's not running around to make them happy. we tried to included them and they aren't making it easy. we aren't going to bend over backwards to fit them in they can make the effort to fit into our schedule. yayayayayay!!!!!!!!! so happy about this. i can't stand them or their drama
I agree with this... DH and I are not ones that like attention, or alot of questions. This LO was a surprise, and before I found out about BFP, I had a heart to heart with my brother. I told him as selfish as it may sound, I dont like change, and pregnancy is a big change to one's body. I told him that I would love to just have a child without the pregnancy factor, and would look into adopting etc.. I never told DH as I knew he wanted kids of his own..
UO: I think people who willfully speak in an ignorant manner are what is wrong with this country. If you know better, do it correctly because not doing so has no purpose other than to show you are too prideful to admit when you are wrong. Apathy is just another form of laziness and why we are going nowhere. Education should not be derided, but in the US, it is.
FFCF: I made biscuits and gravy for breakfast this morning and it was great.
UO: I think that some people on here have unrealistic expections about their maternity care. I understand that we're all scared of miscarriage, but you're not going to get an ultrasound at every visit. It just doesn't happen that way. It is completely normal for your doctor appointments to be nothing more than a urine/weight/blood pressure/doppler check. If you think anything more than that is going to happen, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. EVERY appt will be that way until around 36 weeks when they start doing internals, and by then you'll be so sick of going to the doctor you won't even care.
FFFC: I just downed a venti Starbucks frap
UO- I'm sick of the Occupy news. And hearing that police officers are being stabbed and what not, just makes me sick. Also pretty irritated about the pregnant woman claiming the police at the Occupy caused her m/c. (I'm just a little cranky apparently...)
FFFC- I believe everything happens for a reason. Lately, I have come to realize that pregnancy is VERY hard on my body for a mulitude of reasons. I believe that is just one more reason behind my personal story of my own adoption and also IF. So, as hard as the journey was for us to get pregnant, I am thankful that we will be expanding our family through adoption after this baby.

UO: Can't think of my own right now, but I completely agree with the PP who's UO is the sex vs. gender thing. Get over it already.
FFFC: I don't take my prenatals (too sick), when I can eat I eat a lot of fast food, water makes me sick but Coke makes me happy, I still take hot baths, and I can't wait until I'm well enough to dive head first into some sushi!!!!! Oh, and I plan on bed-sharing with the baby.

I dont have a UO...but here are my FFFC
1. All I want to eat is pizza for EVERY meal...and I generally indulge
2. I'm secretly hoping baby is a boy so that my SIL wont try and make our kids compete (she has a daughter)
3. I'm more excited to spend the morning just Me, DH, and my Niece than I am to have dinner with the whole family in the afternoon
Agree about the sex v gender thing. I appreciated the one thread where it was all hashed out, and I maybe even learned something, but to make it your personal mission to correct everyone who says it wrong (yes, some one said they were going to do this) just reeks of that stuff that stinks for everyone but you.
I don't like Harry Potter or Twilight. And I do NOT get the appeal of Pinterest - spending hours gathering ideas for 50 meals you probably won't make and a hundred crafts that you'll toss out in 6 months...
UO: I hate when people on here say "well, it's because I'm a first time mom". Well, so am I but I am a pretty laid back person. I'm not giving up diet coke and if I want to eat a lunch meat sandwich then that's what I'm going to eat. I put this excuse on the same page as "I have PMS" or "I'm on my period".
FFC: I'm dreading going through this pregnancy with my SIL (who is 4 wks ahead of me). She's a nurse and "knows" everything there is about everything so I can't wait until I get all this good advice in person *rolls eyes*. Also, I'm hoping she balloons during this pregnancy and I get a cute belly. She lifted up her shirt at 10w to show my husband her "baby belly". It wasn't a baby... just bloating.
Prenatals make me sick and I cannot take them and I use to love coke and cannot stand it now and all I want is Sprite.
OU: There are some b*tches. Not sugar coating and being rude are two different things. Some people really need to learn the difference. It makes me not even want to comment.
The sex vs gender thing. It just makes me use the term gender more. Unless you're planning on choosing your child's gender identity based on something other then what's between their legs. You really are finding out the gender. As a baby, parents are choosing the gender. The child can't choose till much later.
FFFC: I'm milking this "must stay in bed" thing a bit to much. But it's nice not doing everything for a change.
Thank you! I've been trying to articulate this very thing for a while now. Immediately after finding out the baby's sex, most parents automatically assign gender identity to their child via pink or blue onesies and boy or girl specific nursery designs. I agree that the correction of sex vs. gender has gotten a little silly.
