DS first tooth started to break through a week ago, it's still very, very tiny but when he is BFing and he gets distracted by something he turns his head and pulls at my nipple. He does it only occasionally but now with the tooth it feels like he is biting and it hurts! When I tell him "stop" in a stern voice he cracks up! How do I stop it before more teeth come in and he really bites?
Re: How to stop the biting?
I feel your pain! Baby teeth are sharp.
When DS got his first tooth he would sometimes bite or the tooth would rub a bit on my nipple near the end of the nursing session. I would take him off instantly and say ouch. I don't think he was doing it intentionally, he would just get lazy near the end when he was getting into a milk daze.
After his two bottom teeth were fully in he stopped doing it and we haven't had any problems since. I don't have any advice on how to stop it, I just used Lanolin a lot that week.
Baby #2 on the way!
