Childbirth Class

I am scheduled for a full day childbirth class on December 10th. My husband is going to be out of town on business. I feel weird going without him I have asked my best friend to go with me.

Did you feel like you got a lot out of your childbirth class? Also, did a lot of the information not pertain to you because you were having multiples?

Thanks!

Re: Childbirth Class

  • FWIW I never did a childbirth class and am definitely glad I didn't waste my time/money on going to one. BUT I was pretty confident I was having a c/s because B was transverse, and I did end up having one. So they just tell you what to do when you get there! I think it would have been different if I planned on doing a vaginal birth if both were head down.

After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls!

  • I agree with some of the previous posters comment- I was able to have a vaginal birth, but with so many factors I didn't know if it was worth it, especially if I would of ended up with a c-section.

I'm sure it's helpful to a certain extent, I also wasn't able to attend a BF class since I was on bedrest and I was able to successfully BF the boys up until 13 months, although I'm sure they had great information to give out we still did fine.

  • I got very little out of the class and the breastfeeding one because of having twins.  I would not waste the money or time.
  • I did'nt do a birthing class because my doctor said she wouldn't recommend it for the same reasons listed above. SHe did recommend however a "marvelous multiples" class though which may be good for you if they have available at your hospital

  • I took a class that was specific to multiples so they covered vaginal and c/s births of multiples (helpful). It also covered pregnancy with multiples (not helpful because I was already too far along and knew all of that) and going home/ taking care of multiples (helpful).

  • I took a childbirth class geared toward multiples because I didn't think a regular class would cover the things I needed to know.  It was great and I highly recommend finding one:
