when i went to dr for my 16 week u/s last week they saw a fluid descrepancy between the babies but everything else looked good and both babies were 6oz..
i went yesterday for my 17 week u/s and the fluid descrepancy has gotten worse and now (in just 5 days) baby B is growing faster than baby A (i cant remember the size difference) but there was still fluid in both bladders. i was told that the fluid descrepancy between the babies had to be around a 2 for one baby and at an 8 or above for the second baby in order to offically call it TTTS. right now baby A was at 2.35 and baby B was 6.75 so right now i just have to keep having u/s to check on them, and i have to start seeing a specalist on top of my OB dr vists =[.... I just want everything to be ok!!
on top of all that we were told that the babies were girls (we have a 2 year old gilr also) and last week they found out that they were wrong and they are actually BOYS!!!! we were happy either way but now we get to experience having a girl and boys =]
Re: update!
Wow that must have been a surprise to go from girls to boys - hope you hadn't been shopping
I'm sorry about the worry over TTTS. My MFM was concerned about it for me too around 20 weeks with Baby B having low fluid and being smaller. By 26 weeks they were measuring close and my fluid was back up - I hope you will have a similar experience.
I did go see a nutritionist who asked me to really focus on protein. She said to aim for 100 grams a day. I really think the high protein intake helped and despite all the calories I didn't gain tons of weight. I put cheese on everything! Also make sure you are getting enough fluid.
