June born in June- too hokey?

I have loved the name June for years, and I had always planned on naming my first daughter June (it's my grandmother's middle name). Now we are expecting, and our due date is smack dab in the middle of June! Would you side-eye someone who named their daughter June that was born in June? She would probably be June Camille.

And FYI, we will most likely use it anyway if we have a girl. I'm just curious about others' thoughts. TIA!

    I think it's hokey enough to veto it if you had a list to decide from. But not hokey enough to veto it if it's the one an only name you've always wanted for your daughter.

    I might internally roll my eyes a little, but it's not like you're naming the kid Nevaeh. My judgement wouldn't last longer than a few seconds.

    I'd say switch the names around, Camille June.  You get to honor you grandma, use a name you love and you can avoid a lot of commentary.

    "A June in June, how original!"  (read it dripping with sarcasm)

    "Good thing she wasn't born in October - October Camille would have been awful!"

    "Were you still drugged up from delivery when you named her?  You gave them the month instead of the name?"

    I could go on.  My father, who I love, is one of the most unfiltered and sarcastic people I know.  If I were naming my June baby June, I'm sure each one of these comments and more would come out of him.

    It's a beautiful name! And I like it a thousand times better than Summer!! I would call that mega hokey. But June being a family name, and gorgeous in general, is not.But what luck you have to adore that name all your life and have your first little girl in the middle of June haha!

    I agree with PP, have you thought about doing Camille June? That is beautiful too. I can see that you might get teased, and she will at some point, but its not horrible. Very nice name and mn you have chosen.

    For the couple that asked, we had not thought of Camille June. That's beautiful, too, but we probably wouldn't use it. We're using June not just to honor my grandmother, but because I truly love the name and want to call my little girl that. Camille is also a family name, but we're mainly using it because it is pretty and sounds good with June:)

    Who knows- we may have a boy anyway!

    I'm having a similar concern as OP... my grandmother just passed away and I just learned that her mother's name was May - would LOVE to use that as a middle name to honor her lineage etc. but I'm due in May.  So I'm with ya...  Then again, we've got a few weeks to go until we find out what we're even having.

    I guess the odds are 1 in 12 that you'll run into this if you're in love with a name that is also the name of a month! :)

    First of all, June Camille is a darling name that is going directly on the list I keep of favorite name combinations I see on this board. Second, I wouldn't think any negative thoughts about a June born in June. Who cares? It's a lovely name. Period.

    ITA with all of this. My grandma's name is June, and I might use it as a MN (though it's adorable as a FN), whether or not a future LO is born in June. I love August for a boy, and I don't really care if the kid is born in August or not. :)

    June Camille is an awesome name. June was our other contender for a girl name and DD was *almost* June, but we decided against it in the hospital because it was too close to my DH's favorite boy name and I told him he had to pick one, because I wasn't going to have a June and a Jude, that would get confusing. 

    Also, people will say sh*t no matter what you name your baby. So ignore the sarcasm.

    My name is April and I was NOT born in April. My whole life I have been getting the side eye for this. Everyone wants to know HOW I got the name. So I say if you love the name - use it.

    Adorable name!  I have a cousin April born in April.  A friend of mine had a girl in June, and her middle name is June.  So, I would not give you the side-eye at all.  :)

    I think June Camille is very pretty and love that it's a family name. I wouldn't side-eye it. Odds are that most people she meets throughout her life won't know she was born in June anyway unless they ask.

    It works for you. It's more weird to me when ppl name their kid April when she's born in October

    TTC 10/11. IUI 2/12. BFP 3/8/12. 4/26/12 missed mc. RE consult 5/17/12. IVF #1 ER 7/13/12 53R, 41M ICSIed, 32F, 8 5d, 6 6d blasts - all PGD/frozen. PGD results 1 normal M and 1 normal F, 1 maybe M. FET 9/6, transferred 1 F embie. Beta 9/15 BFN. FET#2 planned for 11/2012 put off until 2013. Surprise BFP 11/21/12!! My son was born on 7/24/13!

    FET 4/28/2015 - Transferred 1 M embie. 5/6/15 BFP!

    dh's grandma's name is june and she was born in june.

    i asked dh a few months ago when her bday was and he said...umm gee when do you think?

    i would totally go for it

    I don't think it's a big deal at all.  It's not like she's going to introduce herself by saying, "Hi, my name is June and my birthday is in June."  June Camille is so lovely.

    I wouldn't think twice about it. I love the combo June Camille, btw. So classic and lovely! It's too beautiful to throw out just because of her birthday.

    LOVE June Camille! June will be DD's middle name (was my grandmother's MN as well) and I don't think it's too hokey AT ALL to use with her being born in June, but if it's something you can't get past Camille June would be a lovely combination too. Camille was on our short list too....seriously, AWESOME names!!!
